Ryan Reynolds Praises Deadpool Director Tim Miller

Ryan Reynolds Praises Deadpool Director Tim Miller

While chatting to MTV during the Green Lantern press junket, Reynolds spoke about (now officially signed) Deadpool director Tim Miller as well as explaining that the movie will be "nasty, and hard"..

"I love Tim. Tim is someone who we all vetted through and through. He's a guy who captures the spirit of it, and he's also an incredible visual artist."

"He was also the first guy we met who came up with a huge presentation for it. That was something I hope to able to show you at some point."

"Also, Tim came cheap, which helped as well. In order to do this movie the way we want to do it is pretty nasty, and pretty hard. You can't exactly have a $200 million budget when you want to do a movie like this."

Apparently R.I.P.D is next for Reynolds, then it's on to Deadpool. I for one am just happy that the movie is now looking like it's going to finally happen at least. The script was excellent, here's hoping there won't be too many alterations come shoot time.

you don't need to give a film like deadpool $200 million budget.

i reckon $100 million would be enough.

I just hope that they go with the leaked script.

@marvel72

Its a very difficult marketing point.

Assuming it will be Rated R.

300 cost $65m not including advertising and made $456m which is more than both batman begins and superman returns.

But watchmen cost $130m but only made $185m.

so it really depends how the film manages to click with audiences. i think one of the reasons 300 did so much better than watchmen was how excessable it was and that it doesnt seem like a comic book property. but there is obviously a lot more to it than that.

That being said, i loved the script and would hope it would do well. but in the end the almost violent almost anti-hero idea and the breaking of the forth wall are the only two big marketing points i cant think of.

This is going to be cornier than the dance scene in Spider-man 3. They should just name this movie, Breaking the 4th Wall.

I really doubt that certain things from the script will make it. Colossus for one! Prob wont be as much sex and violence either, even though it will be an R, they will prob tone down a few elements.

Will Deadpool be as nutty as he is in the comics? Otherwise it won't be the same.

Lets hope they dont want to show his pretty face all the movie. Ohh who are we kidding, handsome deadpool will be the new deadpool, there is no way he wears the mask all movie and/or his disfigured face.

what puyguy said get off your ass reynolds. you LOVE deadpool? why'd you rape him. and if you cared anything about reviving him from that shitty [frick] over of a movie he was in you wouldn't have it at the bottom of your to do list. while you do shitty green lantern crap. get on it and maybe we will talk.

i find reynolds intolerable. not only is he making just bad movies but he is bragging about it. comparing green lantern to star wars. cocky cock. i should be in love with the actor who portrays my favorite comic book character, but im not. and the fact that he can make me upset over seeing deadpool on screen is terrible.

$50M is all the budget this movie needs. They can't expect it to out gross Blade or Daredevil. As for the director, I don't think anyone could expect a bigger name taking this on, so far so good though.

Ryan just killed this project, probably on purpose.
Read between the lines ... FOX will never spend that kind of money on an R Rated Deadpool

Its good to hear that this movie is starting to move foward, but one thing I don't understand is why is he doing R.I.P.D first, no one gives a [frick] about that shit.

It'll have a great fanboy following but I doubt there will be much mainstream interest. I'm a pretty optimistic person but even I don't have faith in FOX to not magically F things up somehow.

prob a january or feb release with mim marketing and low budget so it can make a killing(no pun intended) and get green lit for a sequal that will suck and not have reynolds. not that im wishing that. marvel just has a lot on there plate to give a damn about a movie thats not a major character(wasn't "major" til orgins.)
