Ryan Reynolds Says The Deadpool Movie Is "Still In The Works"

Despite stating that he would most likely only make either R.I.P.D OR Deadpool(Reynolds has signed on to the former) Ryan Reynolds insists that a solo movie for the Merc With A Mouth is still in the pipeline..

While speaking to Empire about Green lantern Ryan Reynolds says that he is still very much up for a Deadpool movie, but has no idea when it will happen..



"That's still in the works. I'm not sure how logistically it works in terms of scheduling, but yeah I want it to happen"


Don't we all RR. Last we heard on the Deadpool front unknown director Adam Berg(on the strength of his short film Carousel) was said to have landed the gig. But no more was said on the matter since Reynolds seemed to make it very clear that he would be making R.I.P.D and would not be able to do both. I guess he had a change of heart, although with Green lantern 2 now green lit he is going to have a hard time fitting Deadpool in regardless.

don't hold your breath,the script was fantastic IF they keep to it.

but reynolds keeps coming out with the same old shit,nothing new at all.

I personally don't think Deadpool will ever be made. It will sit on the shelf forever. It will die indefinitely if Reynolds leaves the film.

If he is truely a die hard Deadpool fan, he will do this instead of R.I.P.D, or if he can find a way to fit both in, that's cool too. Ryan still can not ditch this movie.

deadpool always wears a mask and even if the mask comes off, his face is f**ked, so techincally could play deadpool. you could hire a martial artist, like ray park and get someone funny to voice the character of deadpool.

oh joy.

Then after Deadpool, he can audition for The Flash. And while he's at it, I hear they might be looking for someone to play the Vision in the Avengers. Unless of course, they decide to make a Green Arrow movie and he wants to play GA, but that might make it difficult if WB wants to do a Green Lantern/Green Arrow team up...

Welp, at first I was all in for RR as DP but if its more likely to happen if its w/o him then I say bring someone else (as long as they stick to that BA script).

I'd much rather see DP than GL 2 however, even if it was done in PG-13 fashion... GL is 2nd favorite DC character but there's only a handful of DC series that I like anywayz

This movie has to get made. I really want to see this more than a lot of other characters. I don't know anything about Adam Berg though. They should really wait and let Robert Rodriguez direct it. Knowing Fox though, they won't wait for him and it will get rushed so can make a quick buck. Pray for a miracle with this one.

If they keep it legit and he is in costume with mask whole time, get someone like Scott Adkins or Ray Park or whatever to do it in the suit so we get the epic action and stuff..
Then just have Ryan spend a couple weeks recording his voice-over

Ryan Reynolds cannot force any studio to make this film. The cost of these movies are high dollar budgets. When the offer was made to him almost 2 years ago now. He was so ready, he even helped write the scrip. Fox drugged their heels. He has to work!! Plus even tho the fan base maybe large, it may not be large enough for them to invest. Cut this man some slack!!

I think FOX has lost interest on this movie.


They are focusing on X-men First Class totally, and The Wolverine too.

and it seems their plan now is to center on the Team movies for the next years, now that Singer has came back.

@JediMasterJimMorrison & anyone else who feel that someone else should play as Deadpool.

As much as I enjoy the idea of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, I feel that someone else should play as that character. In my opinion, Reynolds was better suited for Green Lantern for portraying a young, cocky Hal Jordan starting out as one.
To me, the actor who is perfect to play as Deadpool is Jim Carrey; if he simply just play as himself in the movie, people will actually think he is Deadpool with his voice and mannerism. As for all the stunts, a stunt man can just play as Deadpool and Jim Carrey will just voice Deadpool during those times. If Jim Carrey was chosen the part for Deadpool over Ryan Reynolds, than pretty much we will get a Deadpool movie that both movie goers and fans of Deadpool will enjoy.
