When Josh Horowitz of MTV News caught up with Ryan Reynolds at the Sundance Film Festival over the weekend, the reporter couldn't wait to question the actor about the long-awaited Deadpool, which will be the first comic book movie released early next year. "Yeah, it's been a long time, you know, and it's happening the right way," said Reynolds. "That's all that matters. We don't have the kind of money that most superhero movies do, but that's great. Necessity is the mother of invention, and that's why we get to make the movie we want to make." In light of the critical and box office flop that was Green Lantern, Ryan was then asked he feels any pressure about the 2016 Fox/Marvel standalone film. "No, no, no, of course not," Reynolds replied. "You gotta have faith in the people you're working with, and have faith in the prep, and that's all I'm doing. On this one, the prep's been 11 years. You'd like to think you're putting your best foot forward, but we'll see." About the leaked Deadpool test footage, which was well-received (and literally broke ComicBookMovie.com for an hour or so), Reynolds said he wishes he had leaked it sooner. "I would have Fox's lawyers so far up my ass they could smell Wade Wilson's feet," joked the actor when asked if he leaked the footage. "No, no, no I didn’t leak it. But I would have. Looking back now, in a heartbeat. I should go home and scan the old hard drive and see what I've got in there." Anyhow, video of the MTV interview can be found below. Directed by Tim Miller, Deadpool will see Ryan Reynolds return as Wade Wilson on February 12, 2016. What do you think?
