Ryan Reynolds Talks About The First Draft Of The Deadpool Script

Deadpool himself talks about the first draft of the script which has recently generated a lot of positive buzz after being leaked on the internet...

Ryan Reynolds who will be playing Deadpool in a solo film after appearing "X-Men Origins: Wolverine". Now here what Reynolds has to say about the first draft of the script from the duo behind "Zombieland":

"The script is going to be a little harder. If you were going to assign a rating, the comic books at PG-13, the script right now is walking a tightrope between that and a R rating.

The fourth wall is broken many times in the movie– and it’s important that we do so. I can’t emphasize enough how closely the tone of the comic is being followed in the film script. But it’s a nasty piece of work and that’s what’s important."

Bleed: This movie needs to be done right to make up for the stuff we had in origins. I feel like the few minutes where Reynolds was Wade Wilson he proved he could pull of deadpool, and I am willing to give him another chance any day. Hopefully this film gets off the ground soon and finds a director.

Well what he says sounds all fine and dandy; but they rarely hit it outta the park with adaptations, and Deadpool's one of the ones to be most concerned about... I'll wait before I get my hopes up.

when I see a trailer then I will decide if I care or not, photos will not be enough on this one, unless it is of him in the suit and it is authentic to the comic then I might have a lil faith but not enough to get me to care till I see the trailer.

I think he stole the entire movie for the five minutes he was in it as wade, after liev Schrieber. I could understand why somebody may not be to impressed but as I hated most of origins his five minutes just seemed that much more epic. And nothing about wolverine is Jackmans fault, he is dedicated to the character and he is the soul reason I am against an X Men reboot.

Why can't Ryan have the power to say new things about the movie's status? He's said this before...HRm....

Damn, I still haven't read that script yet. I downloaded it the day it was leaked. Anyway, I'm pretty sure this has been posted already, I think it was posted before the script was even leaked actually.

@DurtyTalynt:
It's a good question to ask if it can be good while in possesion of Fox Studios. X-Men 2 was good though neither Fox or Bryan Singer gave a shit. Take Tim Burton as well. He made 1 classic Batman and 1 average Batman. Batman '89 had no encylopedia knowledge from the director. What happened? Instant classic. Both Singer and Burton had admitted to never reading the comics beforehand. The two of them truly lack better mention otherwise in film at the moment. It just depends if it can have a good script and a certain tone. Dosen't matter of the possession, though Fox has made some god awful Marvel flicks.
Now, thing about the sequels is they are mostly rumored or hinging on development hell. There is a large chance for oversaturation in that but it's Fox. They go to any extent now to keep their factory of midgets in service. Just watch. It dosen't mean their vomit will stain all of our beloved characters. Deadpool and Wolverine 2 are sounding great so far. Anything is tangible to someone who does not care at all with enough power. I won't see First Class, but I will give Deadpool and Wolverine a chance.

if you really think about it, they only need his voice for the movie and that is very good possibility. I do not really need to explain my theory since most here are not retarded. Just putting it out there. Plus in the woleverine movie Ryan Reynolds played Wade Wilson and not that final product of shit that we saw Wolverine behead. I am unsure if Ryan Reynolds was ever the fake deadpool in origins but from what I understand he was only Wade. He could shoot flashback scenes in a week and spend a month on voice overs?

first time posting to this site!

If you're still around, could you email the script to [email protected]?

I'm really hoping this gets off the ground, I'll put my faith in fox as long as Ryan Reynolds is still passionate about the character!

i've had the luck of getting a copy of the script, and although I haven't finished reading it yet(damn school getting in the way of my fun.) I must say that I am impressed so far. It does follow the tone of the comic book, both in action and twisted sense of humor. I hope to finish it soon, but I am hesitant because I don't want to spoil the actual movie for myself.
I do hope that they can make this film work to it potential, and I feel that the first step is actually making it a R rating. it doesn't have to strong language, it will be a part of it, but it doesn't have to go all scarface on us. and it does not have to hold back on the violence, but it doesn't have to be overkill either. to make this movie more acceptable to fans, and to people that are not as familiar with the character, i believe a R rating would have to be given.

One question to everyone else who anticipates this film...
something I've asked a number of friends and other film students I'm with...
Should Deadpool's mask have the open eyes (such as batman) or should they really try to bridge the gap between the comics and give him the 'white eyes' that we see (only when his mask is on).
personally, I would like to see the white eyes...but only if they did it right. it would be very easy to fack it up and make it seem cheezy, but I think if they did it just right it could make the movie that much better.

Old news but still good news. I liked the script except for the old and lame slow mo shit every action scene and the addition of Colossus.....Replace him with a marvel rougue or an unused X character who fits the story. Other then that it was pretty decent. I'd see it.

you know how when movies are well into production someone here does a "what they'd like to see" in the movie? for this one I'd say that at some point Deadpool breaks the fourth wall to mock the whole barakapool fiasco in origins. just take a little shot y'know?

I hope it picks right off with him picking up his head in the cooling tower of the nuclear reactor. The whole movie can be about him sewing his head back on.
