It sounds like Joe Manganiello has given up on the idea of returning as Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke.
The True Blood alum made his debut as the ruthless mercenary in the post-credits scene of Justice League when it hit theaters in 2017, and was finally given the chance to reprise the role during the epilogue of the recently released "Snyder Cut." It was only a very brief appearance, but we know there were big plans for Wilson in the DCEU at one point (he was going to be the main villain of Ben Affleck's version of The Batman), and Manganiello has continued to express his desire to suit-up as the villain in future projects.
However, if recent comments from the actor during an interview with Coming Soon are any indication, he's not quite so optimistic about being given the opportunity to step back into the DCEU as Deathstroke When asked about the possibility of returning as the fan-favorite character, he responded with a concise: "No, I let that go a while ago."
This doesn't mean it's never going to happen, but with Warner Bros. now doing their best to move on from the "Snyderverse" era of the DC Films Universe, it always seemed like a long-shot even when Manganiello was still actively campaigning to return.
What do you guys think? Would you like to see Manganiello reprise the role of Deathstroke, or should another actor to step into the role down the line?
