Variety reveal that Disney-Pixar's box office from their newest animated film,
Coco has already made 827 million pesos in Mexico - or 43.1 million when measured in local currency.
The films' success was so great, it even dethroned
Marvel's The Avengers as the country's highest grossing movie ever.
The movie premiered at the Morelia Film Festival in Mexico, October 27, and since then, it has been steadily becoming the country's biggest movie in its history.
Coco includes a cast of many talented mexican voice actors with a premise the revolves around Mexico's very own holiday, Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Disney made a strategic move and planned the movie premiere just days before the actual Día de los Muertos celebration that starts October 31 and ends November 2.
Meanwhile,
Coco waits for its premiere in the U.S. and Canada for November 22 while sitting ontop a
