TASM Director Marc Webb In Talks To Helm Disney's Live-Action SNOW WHITE Remake

Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, etc. The Amazing Spider-Man director Marc Webb is in negotiations to helm the live-action remake of another of Disney's classic animated films, Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs...

It looks like Disney's live-action remake of Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs is zeroing in on a director, as Variety reports that Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man movies, Gifted) is in negotiations to helm the project.

The deal has not been finalized just yet, but Webb is said to be the studio's top choice.

The Girl on the Train screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson is currently working on the script, which will "expand upon the story and music from the 1938 animated classic." La La Land duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul will write new songs for the movie.

There have been several different adaptations of the Brothers Grimm fairytale over the years, the most recent being 2012's Snow White and The Huntsman starring Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart.

This latest take on doesn't have a release date yet.

@L0RDbuckethead - Paul King dropped out of Pinocchio over creative differences. Sword/Stone is a Disney+ exclusive now.

@tmp3 - Got a source on that Sword in the Stone on Disney+? I can't seem to find anything online about it. Was it mentioned at the Disney+ announcement or sooner?

Wasn't there like two recent snow white films with Kristen Stewart and one with Lilly Collins?

@Forthas - I enjoyed the Collins flick, colorful and fun. Can't say the same about the Stewart film.
Anyway, this is the OG Disney animated film classic. It should have been done years ago!

As long as this keeps Marc Webb away from that Your Name adaptation he was attached to, more power to Disney.

Hit or miss director. 500 Days of Summer and Gifted are both great, but his ASM film aren't. Such a random choice. As solid as Aladdin was, they could have done better than Ritchie.
Also, Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine, Mulan and now Snow White. Are we getting a Disney Princess cinematic universe after all?

@WakandanQueen - Honestly, I blame the ASM sucking more on the scripts and studio meddling.

Probably shouldn't expect to see Prince Charming
L0RDbuckethead
L0RDbuckethead - 5/30/2019, 3:36 PM
@Kevwebsz - Oh you will definitely see him. There's a Prince Charming solo film in the works (not kidding). They're also making a "Rose Red" movie, who is Snow White's sister in the original Fairy Tale.

Seems like they're planning on building quite the little world of Snow White movies, I wonder if we'll get a Dwarves spin-off. That shit would print money.

@IronGenesis - Patience, my friend. It is currently in development, doesn't have a release date, but it has Rob Marshall directing and Lin-Manuel Miranda writing music for it (original and new), along with original composer Alan Menken. Multiple actresses have been rumored for the part of Ariel, including Zendaya, Ariel Winter, Ariana Grande, and a few more that slip my mind. Also, Lindsay Lohan has been campaigning for the role for like a year now. It's also been suggested that Disney are looking at Lady Gaga for the role of Ursula.

It'll come soon after Mulan and Cruella, you can bet on it.
