It's time for Comcast to put up or shut up.
The telecommunications conglomerate has always maintained that it would wait until the AT&T-Time Warner ruling to make its final decision regarding a counter-offer for 21st Century Fox assets, and reports are now coming in that a federal judge has determined that AT&T’s proposed $85.4 billion purchase of Time Warner is legal.
This means that AT&T is the new owner of the parent company of Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Entertainment and CNN, and it also sets the stage for Comcast to mount an aggressive bid for Fox's assets which are, at present, set to be acquired by Disney for $52.4 billion.
Of course, Marvel fans the world over will be hoping Comcast just forgets the whole thing and let's the deal go through, but that's obviously not likely to happen.
Stay tuned to CBM to find out how this situation develops.
