DOCTOR STRANGE Prequel Comic Has Ties To THE RUNAWAYS And BROTHER VOODOO

The Marvel Studios comic book prequel for Doctor Strange has some very interesting connections to The Runaways and Stephen Strange's successor, Brother Voodoo. Is this a clue for Phase 4 of the MCU?

In the image above, from the Doctor Strange prequel comic, we meet two more Master of the Mystic Arts, Daniel Drumm and Tina Minoru.  They're minor Marvel comics characters with ties to more well-known superheroes.   In Daniel's case, he's the elder brother of Jericho Drumm aka Doctor Voodoo, a powerful magician in his own right who at one point, replaced Strange as the Sorcerer Supreme.  Tina Minoru is the mother of Niko Minoru, one of the main characters from Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona's The Runaways.  That's a project that Marvel has been trying to find the right spot to launch since Phase 1!

With these characters likely to appear in the Doctor Strange film, alongside their fellow Masters of the Mystic Art instructors, Wong and Kaesilius, could it be a sign that Brother Voodoo and The Runaways are coming down the pipeline?

You will note that I didn't do what I had the opportunity to do because doing so is quite lame.

A Runaway Netflix show would be amazing.

Just because they're in a prequel comic doesn't mean they're gonna show up in the movie.

Calm down.

I'm actually hoping that Marvel Studios incorporates the history of this comic prequel. But I have to caution folks about distinguishing events in the comics to what is done in the MCU. Comics have the luxury to be more expansive in its storytelling which the film may or may not even reference. This is a prequel comic and as thus covers events that may only be marginally referenced in the film. Who's to say that every player mentioned in the comic will play a role in the present or future of the MCU.

A Runaways movie series would be awesome. So hopefully it happens someday soon.

I want to see Brother Voodoo. A Netflix show could be so good, with the new orleans vibe. Buf if they do that, we won't see Strange and him hanging out together.
But a sequel of Doctor Strange with Voodoo, Scarlet Witch and even maybe Hellstrom, it could be so nice!

I hope the runaways will one day get their own part in the MCU. Even if they pop up in cloak and dagger wouldnt mind me
