Kevin Feige elaborates on Doctor Strange's role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In a recent interview with Empire Magize, President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige said the following in regards of Marvel's sorcerer supreme and his role in the MCU:

“There’s a whole other side to the Marvel universe, which is the supernatural side. We’ve always been very interested in this aspect and this is going back to the early days of Strange Tales with Steve Ditko and Stan Lee. I love that stuff. We haven’t done anything that mind-trippy yet and for me, Doctor Strange is our doorway into that.”

This comes to no surprise to fans who are familiar with the character, but perhaps we can take this as further confirmation, if the Steven Strange name drop wasn't enough in Captain America: The winter soldier, than a Doctor Strange it's on its way and perhaps will be announced soon.

What do think of Feige’s comment? Can Marvel Studios really pull off a character so strange in their cinematic universe? Leave your opinion down below and thank you for reading.

Looking forward to Dr Strange, although I don't know how they are going to be able to explain his powers seeing as though he is neither mutant nor inhuman.
I guess it'll just be a leap of faith that weird hand movements and an uttered phrase can be enough to manifest powers.

I sincerely hope not after the debacle that was Transcendance.

I think if done right, I think marvel can once again create one of the best cbm's of all time. It would be like iron man mixed with the matrix mixed with fear and loathing in Las Vegas.

F*CKIN epic ...

A Doctor Strange movie would be a great way to introduce a whole new style to the MCU.

Scott Derrickson should be the guy for Doctor Strange. Don't believe me? Watch The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Sinister. Also, seeing as how they're looking to give us the supernatural side of the MCU, and everyone knows where I'm going with this.... Reboot Ghost Rider as a stand alone with David Slade directing and Jake Gyllenhaal and Evan Rachel Wood as Johnny and Roxanne. Can EASILY be done as PG-13 while not neutering the character.

Luke Evans for Strange.

I just dearly hope they don't cheapen the mystical side of the MCU. Like making demons aliens instead of supernatural beings, or making magic into some kind of super-science.

Half the fun in that stuff is the mystery of not knowing how it all works, and the allure of the unexplainable.

Going to have to be a pretty long (or well structured) origin story to fit in his arrogant god-complex surgeon past, his accident, his depression and wandering, his awakening and training and everything inbetween...
