DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Merch Features The Sequel's Most Fantastic Variant

With Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness now playing in theaters, some slightly more spoilery merchandise has found its way online, this time featuring the entire Illuminati. Check it out here...

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness took us to Earth-838, a world called home by a heroic (we think) group known as The Illuminati.

The team was comprised of Captain Marvel (Lashana Lynch), Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell), Master Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), Professor X (Sir Patrick Stewart), Mister Fantastic (John Krasinski), and Black Bolt (Anson Mount). Each of them met a violent end courtesy of the Scarlet Witch, though we'll no doubt see more of their Variants down the line.

While Marvel Studios has shared official shots of Captain Marvel, Captain Carter, Mordo, and Black Bolt, Charles Xavier and Reed Richards have been kept under wraps so far. That's now changed with the release of an Illuminati t-shirt featuring both characters, and while they're mostly hidden in shadow, it's a cool piece of imagery.

It also appears to double down on the somewhat sinister nature of the group, though we do hope that a second wave of merchandise for the Doctor Strange sequel shows more of the Fantastic Four leader.

There's still no word on who will take the helm of the Fantastic Four reboot following Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts' departure. We also don't know if Krasinski will reprise the role of Reed in the MCU, though the hope among fans is that he will return.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now playing in theaters. It arrives on Disney+ on June 22 and hits Blu-ray on July 26.

This scene will not age well.

It's very difficult to get someone to care about characters when the introduction was killing them off and emphasizing that the version we are about to see does not remotely matter. It's already damaged my interest in seeing an MCU Fantastic Four reboot because that was meant to be the universe with the best versions of these characters, meaning any other versions they introduced will come across as even more stupid.

I just rewatched the scene where she spaghetti's mr fantastic, the thing that annoys me is that it takes about 5-10 seconds of wanda-ing, and the two captains just kinda stand there gawping. I thought they were supposed to be this badass superteam, you'd think that would have been a good opportunity to flank Wanda. But no we'll just take it in turns dying.

Watching Scarlet Witch wipeout of the Illuminati was FANTASTIC to watch was worth a second viewing alone. General audiences loved it.

@DoubleD - I haven't seen the entire film yet, but the decimation of the Illuminati in the first appearance of an Illuminati feels too DCish...

@BO31 - regardless. I don't wanna see weak ass introductions of Xavier, Black Bolt, and Mr. Fantastic.

For a film that had SO MUCH hype for cameos and had people expect a massive ammount of past and future cameos the film was pretty light on that promise

Will never forget how much my audience screamed and gasped when Reed and Xavier showed up. And I also think they were trying hard to decipher if the person in Black Bolt's mask was Anson Mount so that must be why they were more silent when he showed up.

I also believe they bought too much the rumors of "Superior Iron Man" when it turned out that it was a Variant Maria Rambeau as Captain Marvel.

And my bad, Cap Carter also got loud cheers.
