In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' mid-credits scene, Stephen Strange is confronted by a mysterious woman decked out in an eye-catching purple costume. She tells the former Sorcerer Supreme that he caused an incursion, and suggests it's now down to them to make things right.
With that, she slices a door open into the Dark Dimension, and they leap through together for an adventure we're guessing will play out in Doctor Strange 3. Fans have correctly identified the character as Clea, Dormammu's niece, though the big surprise was that Oscar-winner Charlize Theron was playing her. That hadn't been reported prior to the sequel's release, so it came as a genuine shock.
Those are rare these days with so many leaks and rumours doing the rounds, and Theron has now taken to Twitter to comment on her MCU debut. She chooses her words carefully, but accompanying that caption with a photo of her in a purple dress, well, it's obvious what the actress is referring to! Hopefully, she'll get the opportunity to talk more about shooting this cameo soon.
Fans have been eagerly anticipating Clea's arrival since 2016's Doctor Strange was released, and it should be interesting to see how this love interest and ally to Stephen is utilised in the threequel. If it's leading to a team-up that finally delivers a comic accurate Dormammu, then we're 100% on board.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now playing in theaters!
