We're counting down the days until Eternals arrives in theaters, especially as the movie has all the makings of an adventure that will completely reshape the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it.
If even half the speculation is accurate, we could see the introduction of the X-Gene and even Galactus, not to mention an origin story for Thanos that explains how he's tied to the Eternals (if you're curious to learn more about that, we'd recommend the recently released comic book, Eternals: Thanos Rises).
While we wait and see what happens, Empire recently caught up with Eternals director Chloé Zhao, who says that the narrative in her first blockbuster is "akin to stories of Greek and Roman gods, who live very human lives with human traits, rivalries, jealousies and frailties."
The filmmaker adds that, "I loved the idea of continuing to challenge the straight-forward morality we’re used to in the superhero genre." It feels like Zhao has something really special planned for this one, which is no great surprise considering she recently won an Oscar for her work on Nomadland.
With these comments comes a new look at Kumail Nanjiani suited up as Kingo. The actor put a huge amount of work into his superhero transformation, which clearly paid off for him!
Eternals is set to be released in theaters on November 5.
