It's a tough time to be a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe right now. With Black Widow pushed from May to November, we're facing the longest gap between theatrical releases in a decade, and Eternals - one of the most highly anticipated Phase 4 movies - has been pushed to next year.
That's all a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, of course, and in the case of Eternals, vital post-production work (and reshoots which are commonplace for a blockbuster like this) has been delayed.
As you might expect, cast members are as confused as the rest of us in regards to what comes next, something Kit Harington admitted in a recent Q&A with fans.
"Well [The Eternals] is done, that's filmed," he says. "It's just, God knows what happened...or what's going on with it, I have no idea. I don't know what's happening with anything right now."
Harington was likely expecting to take part in additional photography and ADR over the summer, while the Black Knight actor would have also been booked in for a lengthy promotional tour.
That's all changed now, though, and Eternals is coming our way on February 12th, 2021 instead of November 6th, this year. We will eventually get to see the movie, but a first look could be a long way off, and with so much uncertainty surrounding what comes next, who knows what the plan is for this Phase 4 release.
Like Harington, we'll just have to wait and see for the time being!
