This probably won't come as much of a surprise following the events of Eternals' post-credits scene, but it's now been confirmed that the mystical Ebony Blade will factor into the upcoming Blade reboot in some capacity, meaning there's a good chance Dane Whitman (Kit Harington) will also appear.
The Ebony Blade was introduced in the stinger, as Whitman reached for the weapon only to be given a warning by an offscreen voice. We'd later learn that this was the MCU debut of Blade (Mahershala Ali), who was on hand to ensure Whitman was ready for the power he'll unleash by wielding the cursed sword.
This indicated that The Black Knight and The Daywalker would be teaming up for Blade's solo outing, and while that remains to be seen, Eternals VFX Supervisor Stephane Ceretti has revealed that the Ebony Blade will return.
"The funny thing is, my second on the show, which is Mårten Larsson my additional supervisor, is actually going to be supervising Blade very soon," Ceretti told ComicBook.com. "So I told him, I said, 'I'm giving [the blade] to you as a gift, use it wisely and make good out of it.' But I'm sure it's going to do actually even better."
A recent casting call suggested that Blade will introduce Whitman's love interest Faiza Hussain, aka Excalibur, so it's looking more and more likely that this reboot is going to feature a team of vampire hunters.
Blade will be directed by Bassam Tariq, with Delroy Lindo (The Harder The Fall) on board in an undisclosed role. The movie is expected to begin shooting this summer.
