This probably won't come as much of a surprise following the events of Eternals' post-credits scene, but it's now been confirmed that the mystical Ebony Blade will factor into the upcoming Blade reboot in some capacity, meaning there's a good chance Dane Whitman (Kit Harington) will also appear.

The Ebony Blade was introduced in the stinger, as Whitman reached for the weapon only to be given a warning by an offscreen voice. We'd later learn that this was the MCU debut of Blade (Mahershala Ali), who was on hand to ensure Whitman was ready for the power he'll unleash by wielding the cursed sword.

This indicated that The Black Knight and The Daywalker would be teaming up for Blade's solo outing, and while that remains to be seen, Eternals VFX Supervisor Stephane Ceretti has revealed that the Ebony Blade will return.

"The funny thing is, my second on the show, which is Mårten Larsson my additional supervisor, is actually going to be supervising Blade very soon," Ceretti told ComicBook.com. "So I told him, I said, 'I'm giving [the blade] to you as a gift, use it wisely and make good out of it.' But I'm sure it's going to do actually even better."

A recent casting call suggested that Blade will introduce Whitman's love interest Faiza Hussain, aka Excalibur, so it's looking more and more likely that this reboot is going to feature a team of vampire hunters.

Blade will be directed by Bassam Tariq, with Delroy Lindo (The Harder The Fall) on board in an undisclosed role. The movie is expected to begin shooting this summer.

I just saw The Eternals the other day, couldnt get around it sooner. It has its flaws but doesnt deserve that much hate it got. Its not great but its not crap, its was fine and enjoyable. I think we got a bit spoiled with so much comicbook content and Marvel set the bar high, so if a movie is not amazing then its shit.
It was a nice surprise seeing Pip The Troll lol

When a [frick]ing Batman movie is screening at 4 hours long and is greenlit for 3 hour runtime theatrically, despite how that equates to less showings per day and thus less money, it’s hard to get excited about a Blade film that we know is being Marvelized. Black Knight being in it only cements that for me. I’d rather they make an adult Blade show than make a neutered version of the character. Blade isn’t Batman, he [frick]ing murders the [frick] outta vampires. How the hell can you make that work with out showing, ACTUALLY showing him slicing and dicing. Are we gonna give the vamps green blood? Are we just gonna shoot every death from behind the vampires point of view to limit the damage? I mean for the life of me I just don’t get how you sign off on making a new Blade but pg13. It’s utterly ridiculous that DP3, a film that is confirmed to be part of the MCU gets to have its R rating but Blade gets the shaft

@McMurdo - Agreed. For me it just solidifies the idea that Marvel/Disney really don't want Rated R movies, and that DP3 was only greenlit as Rated R because it had 2 highly successful films already and they don't want to lose those viewers.

And let's be honest. There are only a few Marvel heroes that NEED to be Rated R. Blade is one of them. Punisher is the other.

I see a lot of people say Moon Knight should be Rated R, but I'm not so sure about that.

I hope that Dracula gets the Ebony Blade at the end of Blade and Dracula is the great villain of Midnight Sons.

Black Knight popping up in Blade would just drive further home the likelihood that this take is going to lean into fantasy-horror more than just traditional action-horror, which makes sense. Feige's use of Spider-Man has shown that he's willing to cover some of the necessary ground of previous iterations but mostly ground the character in a story that speaks to a part of their comic history that previous iterations haven't really covered. I expect there to be vampires galore in Blade, but I'm definitely seeing this be a movie where Blade fights anything from Werewolves to straight up massive monsters, the likes of which we really see more of in a Guardians/Thor movie than in a Snipes Blade movie

I can't wait for Blade and Dane to team up in the movie, along with Faiza.

I assume Dane will be Blade's protegee in "Blade" and Blade is going to take on the role Whistler fullfilled for him.
Would love to see Ali and Harrington slice their way through some vampires.

Hope they get some badass sword choreography (if you already have to swordfighters included) and have the movie stand out through it's action.
