Bob Garlen Presents: TERMINATOR 3: DECIMATION Fan Cast and Story Synopsis

My take on a TERMINATOR 3, Ignoring all the films past 2, but set in a proper canon that aims to be a finale film ending the series.

The war is won, Skynet is broken… But with victory comes a dark revelation – Skynet was created by the very man it swore to destroy: JOHN CONNOR. After revealing previous assassination attempts were destined to fail so that John himself would be responsible for Skynet’s Source Code. Defeated, the now older John Connor must go back in time to the year 2010 to terminate himself to prevent Judgement Day, while the Resistance sends back a warrior to stop John from Terminating himself, while Skynet sends back its Ultimate Terminator to ensure John Connor’s Termination and implant the Skynet Code into several computers allowing it to take over on both the industrial, public, and military computers.

Composer: A film score (also sometimes called film music, background music, or incidental music) is original music written specifically to accompany a film. The score forms part of the film's soundtrack, which also usually includes dialogue and sound effects, and comprises a number of orchestral, instrumental or choral pieces called cues which are timed to begin and end at specific points during the film in order to enhance the dramatic narrative and the emotional impact of the scene in question.

Brad Fiedel [Notable Works: The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, True Lies]: He has publicly stated he would have come back for Terminator Dark Fate if asked. His music adds a specific tone and element to the film and has been sorely missed in the franchise. For an authentic Terminator 3, he would be needed on the team.

Screenwriter: A screenplay or script is a written work by screenwriters for a film, video game or television program. These screenplays can be original works or adaptations from existing pieces of writing. In them, the movement, actions, expression, and dialogues of the characters are also narrated. A play for television is also known as a teleplay.

Leigh Whannell [Notable Works (as a Writer): Saw, Upgrade, The Invisible Man]: He writes thrillers, action, and drama. He’s great at creating tension and ramping it up. He has the imagination and the talent to take the franchise back to a smaller feeling scale like the first film, give it the tension and action of both the second and first and ask the bigger questions of the second film. He’s altogether the right person to do a true Terminator 3.

Director: A film director is a person who directs the making of a film. Generally, a film director controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects and visualizes the script while guiding the technical crew and actors in the fulfillment of that vision. The director has a key role in choosing the cast members, production design, and the creative aspects of filmmaking.

Leigh Whannell [Notable Works (as a Director): Insidious: Chapter 3, Upgrade, The Invisible Man]: He is a great director. He does a wonderful job of making a small-scale action and thrillers feel big and important. He’s a smart director and immensely talented and perfect for the Terminator franchise. He might be able to do what so many have failed to do.

Future John Connor [Height: 5’ 10”, Age: 46]: The leader of the resistance. Burden by recent guilt for his part in creating Skynet, desperate to make amends for his actions. He decides to go back in time to kill his younger self in the hopes that erases any trace of Skynet. He has skin over cybernetic enhancements on his arm and leg. He suffers from PTSD, wishing for a life he feels he’s not allowed to have, a normal life where he and his wife raise children, now he feels he would have to abandon that dream to save the world.

Josh Brolin [Height: 5’ 10”, Age: 52, Notable Works: No Country for Old Men, Sicario, Deadpool 2]: After Deadpool 2, he really played the Cable with exactly I feel John Connor should be played, Gritty, Serious, almost drained of emotion and determined. He really played a human terminator and that would be wonderful to see him play the role.

2010 John Connor [Height: 5’ 10”, Age: 25]: A young Computer Programmer interning at Cyberdyne under an assumed named “Jonathan Reese.” He has a recurring nightmare of Skynet still existing and nuclear Armageddon happening because he failed to do something. Manifested as PTSD this leads him to develop a code that is intended to disable any developed-Artificial Intelligence. His work on this is later adopted by other members of Cyberdyne and developed as a source element for Skynet.

Dacre Montgomery [Height: 5’ 10”, Age: 25, Notable Works: A Few Less Men, Power Rangers, Stranger Things]: He’s actually a rather talented and great actor. It seems a role like this might be an opportunity for him to really show some of his range as an actor and win public hearts. He is a strong actor and very capable of playing the role exceptionally well.

Future Kate Brewster [Height: 5’ 8”, Age: 45]: John’s wife and a key general of the Resistance. When it is revealed John created Skynet Kate refuses to believe it, after failing to stop John from going back in time, she sends herself and Bob back to save her husband’s life. She looks for a future where her and John Raise a child. Something that comes to fruition when they avert Judgement day for the final time and find an orphaned child: Kyle Reese.

Samantha Smith [Height: 5’ 8”, Age: 50, Notable Works: Transformers, Stephanie, Supernatural]: She’s a strong actress and her work would be very reminiscent of Linda Hamilton’s work in Terminator 2. She has shown the ability to play a strong character with a take charge attitude. She knows how to bring a soft vulnerability to her work and makes her stand out as a person for this story and role. Seeing her take the role and do something unique with it would be a treat.

2010 Kate Brewster [Height: 5’ 8”, Age: 25]: An L.A. Police Officer, girlfriend of John Connor. A strong woman, good aim. She is a source of personal strength for John despite not knowing his real name or why he suffers from PTSD. She hangs in the relationship In the hopes that she can bring him to open up and tell her everything.

Skyler Samuels [Height: 5’ 6”, Age: 25, Notable Works: Scream Queens, Spare Room, The Gifted]: She’s a wonderful young actress and shown she’s very capable of bringing a sense of strength and spontaneity to her roles. There’s no doubt she could take the all-American feeling of Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor from the first film and mix in the stronger independent elements of her Sarah from the second to manufacture a version of Kate Brewster that you could see easily gaining John’s attention. Her performance would certainly be something to grab attention and really give the audience a reason why John would love her.

T-800/Bob [Height: 6’ 3”, Age: N/A]: A T-800 sent back by John to the early days of the war to help the resistance, John has kept this one with him for some time – giving him the nickname Bob. Bob has become an invaluable member of the resistance, helping think like Skynet to get victories over it. He cares for John, as per his programming. John gave him the name Bob only ever explaining to him that “Bob was an Uncle. Only family that made me feel like family.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger [Height: 6’ 2”, Age: 72, Notable Works: The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Terminator Dark Fate]: Really the only thing the later terminator films have done right in my estimation is allow Schwarzenegger to display more personality in his characterizations. Those usually bring some palatable elements to the films. The Franchise is ingrained in his DNA at this point and it’s really no difficulty to bring a role for him in any sequel, especially making it one that allows him to do new stuff. This is a version of the role that would display a full personality and still perform high-octane action.

T-1200/‘Him’ [Height: 6’ 5”, Age: N/A]: The Ultimate Terminator, fully self-aware but dedicated to his mission, increased speed and strength, enhanced exoskeleton that allows him to create projectile weapons such as Guns – Just needing ammunition for them. The T-1200 can run up to 80 Miles per hour as well as make impressive leaps. The strength is enough to crush a human being with one punch. An expert marksman and an expert with knives.

Dwayne Johnson [Height: 6’ 5”, Age: 48, Notable Works: The Rundown, Skyscraper, Fast and Furious {Franchise}]: It’s no secret that Dwayne is a massive fan and admirer of Arnold Schwarzenegger. It would seem to be the ultimate role for Dwayne, pitting him in a cinematic battle against Arnold. This would no doubt be a perfect role for Dwayne to flex his muscles as an actor as well as show off himself physically.

Skynet Mainframe: The Central Computer of Skynet. Attached directly to the time displacement device. Skynet reveals that Connor was behind its creation. Knowing Connor will attempt to eliminate himself, Skynet must maintain its existence and quietly builds it’s Ultimate Terminator with the mission to ensure Connor’s termination and the implementation of the Skynet source code in various computers allowing it to come together and build itself already in full control of the world.

Jeri Ryan [Height: 5’ 8”, Age: 52, Notable Works: Star Trek {Franchise}, Body of Proof, Bosch]: A wonderful actress with a voice that really stands out and transcends normal presence into pure essence. A wonderful choice to give Skynet a theoretical voice. She would add a proper element of haunting essence, emotionless truth, and a sense of ominous.

This sounds so much better than anything the terminator films have given us since T2. After the dumbness that was the dark fate, I was ready to say that terminator should not be a franchises. Out of six films, two good movies of which the first one is only really needed as a setup for the masterpiece sequel.

But your idea could actually be a nice way to complete the trilogy. Continuation of the story actually seems to work without making the ending of T2 feel pointless.

@Odin - I agree, this probably would’ve spared us the decline in quality that usually comes with most continuous film franchises.

I like it. Definitely sounds like a proper finale to the franchise. Also, Schwarzenegger vs Johnson vs Brolin. Directed by Leigh Whannell.

Are Robocop Vs. Terminator and Terminator: Decimation part of the same canon?

@ILoveStargirl - different Canon. Both stemmed from me asking how I'd do a 3rd Terminator without discounting what happened in T2. Two different ideas manifested so I did both.

Welcome back again! Hey, sorry for giving you crap about your other cast when you were casting radical liberals. I've been on Breitbart, and there are a lot of people who despise Hollywood and want to see California destroyed for good because of how people are down there. They're not bad people, but I don't share their sentiment. I just want to see you make a cast that everyone will go to the movies to see. Now I'll get to the cast.

- Leigh Wannell might be a tall order to try big-budged sci-fi epics. Unless you're going for a smaller-scale film like the first Terminator.
- Dacre does resemble Nick Stahl from the third film! Big ups!
- Never heard of Samantha Smith.
- Ah, Skyler Samuels! First time you decided to cast this lovely drink of water!
- Jeri Ryan's definitely a good sci-fi actress. She could use a little something after Star Trek: Picard bombed. But if you liked that show, I'll respect your opinion.
