THE MIGHTY AVENGERS –
ANIL RICKLY
PRESENT DAY, NY City, Times Square, Night of Destruction -
“Avengers disassembled!” yells Loki as he has his foot on the throat of Captain America. The shield of Cap lies at Loki’s foot and he picks it up…with a bloody stained grin smiling wide, and he looks over to see Henry Pym, giant and fallen across Times Square, with buildings, rubble and immense destruction beneath him. His wife, Janet, lies on his chest, a mere molecule on the giant. Giant-Man is unconscious and his wife motionless. The wave of destruction is abound and Loki looks over at the Frost Giant who has Iron Man and Widow in his clutches, and Hawkeye crouched in pain as he holds his wounded side…but the glory is seen in the Mischief-Lord’s eyes when a fire-giant, emerges from smoke and ash, and drops the body of Thor, at his feet. Loki embraces his victory as he sees his fallen brother, bleeding and semi-conscious, and more importantly Mjolnir is no where in sight…Loki has defeated the Avengers and he picks up Cap’s shield and places it over his head…
“War never shows who is right, it shows who is left!” and as he moves to thrust the shield down onto Cap’s throat….
There is a brilliant flash of light in the sky…and Loki looks to see it reflect…the sky is lit with white, engulfing all of New York…and Loki sees…
“No it cannot be…he’s alive?…No,” and Loki’s eyes grow with disbelief as we hear the most thunderous roar ever…and the screen blazes with encompassing lightning.
***** Where it all began -
“Here’s where we start!” a disgruntled Tony Stark tells Hawkeye…with an angry look upon his face.
“So I take it you won’t forgive me for using your tech…and borrowing some of Hammer’s to make me bows and arrows a bit more efficient?” Barton snarls with a sly laugh emanating, “Well, Fury and SHIELD seems to be fine with my hobbies and skills…so deal with it Robot-Man!”
“You arrogant little pri-…” Stark yells before he is cut off.
“Enough of this little kindergarten shit!” yells Fury, “We have found the target dammit…now get your heads in the game and put these petty differences aside boys…Start acting like Men for God’s sake! We have the target locked and ready to engage! Miss Danvers…please…the briefing!” Fury ends as he stares down Iron-Man and Hawkeye…who both sit and view the screen as kids scolded on a Monday morning.
Danvers places the screen on full-imagery…and begins –
“Banner has been sighted just outside New York. After the damage done to Washington, Massachusetts and the casualties, both bystander, law enforcement and moreso, SHIELD CASUALTIES, we have deemed him a KIS - Kill on Sight. After, the killings of a dozen SHIELD AGENTS, including GEN THUNDERBOLT ROSS at Nevada Facility SOMBRERO (see my Incredible Hulk 2 plot), Banner has become an omega-code red priority, the highest threat to national security, and one which we must eliminate…by all means necessary. Since he has escaped us, he has been rampaging and the civilian loss count is growing. The President is on our backs…and if SHIELD does not shut him down…we will be shut down…After War Machine engaged him…and received multiple damages to suit and personnel…Col. Rhodes, while recuperating for the next few months from damages sustained, has advised us…and especially Iron Man, do not underestimate Banner…this isn’t the same monster we tried to lock down a few months ago…something different has happened…this Hulk has been something we have not seen before…He is a killer…many of our agents have fallen…he is America’s Wost Wanted…”
“And it’s up to us to put him down,” a calm, cool, collected voice says as he emerges from the shadows. Fury stands in reverence, followed by everyone in the room…they are in awe at what they see…first the SHIELD glistens as brand new…and emerges…as an angel out of rapture…STEVE ROGERS…the first Avenger…CAPTAIN AMERICA,
“By any means necessary…he’s no longer man…but a Monster!”
Everyone says nothing as they watch and listen to him. All they know is to follow the leader, and Hawkeye and Stark nod in approval as Cap scopes the room out with his piercing blue eyes.
“Avengers…gears up…ETD…20 mins…!”
Rogers then walks over to a worried-looking Fury, who says “Interrogation one more time I guess, Stark will meet us in the Diamond Cell…it’s looking pretty bad…”
“When’s it ever look good Fury?” Cap snides back as they enter the elevator. Stark and Agent Sharon Carter enter the elevator with them as they speed to the Cell.
Hawkeye is in his quarters, as he looks over to an Army Knife, looking as new as ever…it lies above his bed mantle.
“JERICHO styled – vibranium model H-6768…the first I ever stole from Stark Industries…Natasha…” he whispers as he sighs…to remember…
Barton is in his black suit, leather, reminiscent of a male Black-Widow, as he has all agents on the floor. He has stolen the chip he needed, a micro-vision amplifier, courtesy of Hammer Industries, and with the tech he attained from Stark recently, Barton is eager to head to his lab and finalise the design for his new bow and arrow array.
“Guess I’ll be unstoppable now…”
But before Barton can escape his legs are swept off the ground and he falls on his ass.
“Property of Stark Industries…sorry Clint” Widow remarks as she emerges in her new SHIELD outfit.
“Well looks like you turncoat-ed this one baby…Why am I not surprised…haven’t seen you in years…heard you were leaving the good ole jobs behind for a spy career…and then you turned cop…I heard lotsa things bout you but wow…What did Stark give you for dinner on his plane?”
Fight ensues as Widow and Barton go at it. Obviously, we see a Mr. AND Mrs. Smith relationship, as they know each other inside out…all the moves, styles etc…and none can get the upper hand on the other…till Barton uses his arrow from his pocket and clamps Natasha’s hands to the ground…
“I’d kill you if I didn’t love you in the past!” and as Barton heads out the window…
BOOM…repulsor ray to his chest…
“Now that aint a way to treat a lady on a date!”
“Well buddy that aint no lady…and this aint no date…it’s a heist”
And Barton quickly assembles his bow, pulls from his quiver and unleashes on Iron Man, whom manages to scope the trajectory of all the arrows and successfully evade…but when his vision focuses again…Barton’s gone…
“Stark behind you…he’s fast as hell Ton –..”
But Barton already uses a knocked over canister to thrash Stark’s helmet and then shoots an explosive arrow bringing the roof down on Tony. Barton heads off to the street, and as he leaves the Stark facility he jumps into a waiting jet-ski in the juxtaposed lake…
Only to have himself shocked and knocked unconscious into the river…
“DAMN YOU ROMANOV- …oh shit…” as he passes out.
Stark emerges over him and fishes him out the lake with his helmet off…Widow then tends to the unconscious Clint…
“If I didn’t love you in the past Robin Hood…I’d kill you…”
while Stark is pissed and mutters “Friggin thief..son of a….” as he curses the hell outta Barton.
We flash to Barton in the Cell…
We see Natasha, Fury and Stark in there…
“You either accept and join the team or you go away for Life kid!” Fury tells Clint.
“And Life is a pretty long time to be locked away, Archer-Boy. Listen to your girlfriend!” Stark roughs.
“Please Clint…we have a chance to do what is right and save lives…leave the past behind and lets..” Widow is broken by Barton’s loud voice…
“To hell with these capitalist assholes…this is bullshit…these guys play heroes but Stark…especially him…and SHIELD…are all bringers of bloodshed and war…it’s up to us, the poor simple folk, to get by on the street…while you play Gods in the Air! Shove your deal!”
We pan out to see the Triskelion…IN THE SKY…MAGNIFICENT FOR THE FIRST TIME…
“Throw his ass in lockdown…outta this Helicarrier!” roars Fury.
We see Barton being escorted by Stark, Widow and a man, turns out to be Hank Pym, and 2 other agents, whilst Dep. Director Danvers and Cap America, in his civilian get-up looks on…
“Bring him to my room Carol…I want a quick word before he goes!”
Danvers obeys Cap… “Agent Hill…inform Stark that Captain wants a word with Barton…and Maria…make it snappy!”
We now see Barton shaking, as he stutters to Cap…
“Wow..it’s really you…I heard stories..legends…we always thought them as myths man”
“Well kid…hmm…I say kid cuz I’m so frickin old…yet we look the same..listen son, if SHIELD wasn’t a force for good…d’ya think I’d be suited up for them. Right now I’m plain old Steve Rogers, my costume is in the wash Clint so I’m talking man to man…you wanna make a difference or you wanna be different?…I remember when I enlisted…a wise man, Prof Irskine, said…TIME TO STEP UP AND BE COUNTED KID…
I seen what you can do…with your toys in hand…bows and arrow…huh…misfit who fought Widow and kicked up Iron Man…Son…you meant for more boy!!!”
And with that Rogers nailed Barton with a right.
“C’mon boy, Mr. Rebel without a Cause, pucker up like James Dean, and fight Rogers aka Captain America…if you nail one punch…you go free…but WHEN I kick your ass…you sign up…”
And Barton brawled with Rogers but alas, for all his skill, he landed nothing and Rogers knocked him bleeding and black-eyed on his ass.
“Avengers training starts in 2 hours in the rec kid…”
Rogers pulled an old bow and arrow from his room corner and then in a swift blink of an eye, he shot straight through Clint’s hair…just over his right ear…
“Holy shi-…” Barton remarked
“I said get out and prep for workout boy…we gotta long journey if we are to make survival count for good. Last of the Mohicans…my fave book since I been back Clint…made me buy my first bow”
Barton got up, pulled the arrow from the door and smiled, “it’s my fave book too!”
WE NOW RETURN TO BARTON…as he caresses the knife and puts it in his sash…and then he stares at the costume on his wall…
“hmmm…weapons and clothes…Halloween’s early and I gotta kill a jolly green giant tonight!”
Fury comes in over the radio…
“Widow, have you and your team found Banner’s specific location. Is he mobile or not?”
We see Hulk sitting in the dark in the green bushes outside of the city, breathing deeply, his eyes looking raged, fists clenched…and we see his teeth grinding and grimacing and crushing…saliva drips….as he is thirsty…for more blood…we see him sitting in a pool of blood…he has killed 3 deer hunters and their prey…but Hulk is hungry still…he flips and flicks his wrists as an insect passes by him…and he roars……
The insect speeds off…it’s Janet Pym…
And she flies quickly to her husband, Hank, and Widow…the surveillance recon team…
“Shit honey…you okay? Jeez this recon is scary huh?”
Wasp re-sizes to normal size… “Natasha…his eyes…they aren’t green as when we started our dossier to hunt him…they’re red!”
“Dugan’s team is in place to meet him in NY” says Fury.
Widow looks pale and draws deep breath as she radios back in Fury, “Sir, something’s not right…we didn’t have to look for him Nick…it seems that he’s looking for us!!!”
Fury’s eyes are glazed as he stares at Cap, Stark and Carter.
“Banner’s got to be at the end tonight boys…we must finish this…enough lives and blood has been lost…all our training and ops missions need to come to this tonight!!!”
They enter the Diamond Cell, as we see Danvers watching via camera in the main-control room…attentively. In the room the Avengers confront a young slim built man, handsome and rugged, with blond neck-length hair…
“Dr. Donald Blake, we doin this one last time…where’s Thor?” Stark interjects.
“Easy Tony” Cap adds.
Fury chimes in, “look at the footage!”
We see Donald Blake knocking his walking stick and transforming into a Mjolnir wielding Thor, to battle a crew of tech-suited villains or what seems like the Wrecking Crew…
“We know who you are. We kept tabs on you for months…we wanted to apprehend you but quite frankly we’re afraid…you control lightning storms kid…but you did good by us all. You are a hero and that’s why we let you be…but now we need you…I can’t believe we got you in here so easily but I praise Christ himself cuz we need that He-Man warrior you become more then ever Blake…you call yourself Thor? Why won’t you help?”
“HE…HE calls himself Thor. We are not the same person Fury. If you kept proper tabs you would know I’m a safe house, a buffer for this Thor”
“So umm…okay..schizo…ummm….where’s this Thor guy now?” Tony quips.
Stark looked at Blake as he said this, only for Blake to eerily answer, “Thor is a God…God of Thunder…banished to Midgard…from Asgard…by Highfather Odin…punishment for his haughty ways…listen to how he speaks…JEEZ…he’s a God…and the most powerful entity on this planet…”
While Carter looked at him scared and longingly, Cap broke contact with her hazel eyes…sighed and wearily asked Blake, “Where’s the Thunder God now?”
Blake then closed his eyes, with tears leaking, and passed his hand through his head…
“I have no idea…I don’t know where he’s gone! His brother took him…Loki knows!” as he knocked the walking stick on the ground…with no effect!
We see Danvers smiling wickedly, evil as ever, with her eyes screaming of ill-intent, licking her lips as she finally caught on the monitors the visual feed the Widow recon team sent…she whispered and as she moved her lips…we see the Hulk pound the ground…sending tremors through New York…with gas-lines rupturing, streets cracking and alarms going off…buildings shook…as this tremor grew stronger…Hulk roared and all of New York trembled in fear. Hulk then flew into the air and landed on the outskirts of the city…and ran towards it…with his scream echoing to the heavens!!!
Widow, Wasp and Hank simultaneously came in over the radio to the Triskellion,
“Houston, We have a problem!”
****Past battle -
We flash back to a SHIELD UNIT in battle with the Hulk…Hulk is in the Rockies…and he is pissed…he throws a boulder onto the SHIELD GROUND FORCE TANKS…while under a barrage of attacks…Dum Dum Dugan and co. are seeing hell
Dugan yells, “this shit aint working on him! We must dress back now!”
“Drop off!” yells Danvers as she pulls her unit back.
“This is Agent Hill, we are in position…awaiting after our fallback Agent Danvers!”
“Christ, Stark where are you when we need you…” whispers Danvers.
Hulk is in a cavern…enraged but tired…fed up…and he is prepping for another assault when the small pebbles behind him crumble…
“Who there?” asks Hulk
“Well…well…well Banner…it seems you have this beast under control…well not fully it seems…” as Loki emerges with his comments said in song.
He whistles as he circles Hulk…
“Hulk…no like green suit and horned hat…Me, Bruce Banner despises you…”
“Why I have done nothing to you Banner? I didn’t try to build an army of Hulk Monsters like you, I didn’t kill your love Betty…I didn’t kill her father and all those SHIELD AGENTS Banner, I didn’t embrace the beast Banner” Loki slithered, “if anything…I’m your only friend!” as he conjured smoke images of all the tragedy recently befallen Banner (ref my Inc. Hulk 2 story)
“I have no friends…I’m alone wizard!”
“Well then…Banner…all would be well in your life if it wasn’t for the Hulk wouldn’t it…would not you be happy?…you would be married with kids…if not for this greedy green demon?” as Loki conjured a mirage of Betty Ross.
Hulk pondered…. “Maybe…Betty…my Betty”
“Well how about this Banner?” as Loki took him to a utopia, a trick that showed him the life he wanted…Banner woke up next to Betty…and they kissed…and made love…and we see Banner and Betty playing with their kids…and Thunderbolt Ross coming over for Christmas…it was pure bliss, pure joy….till Banner saw Hulk running to the house, stomping his footsteps, as Bruce’s family got behind him…Save us Bruce they yelled! Save me my love! Save us father! Loki appeared next to Bruce – “I can give you this utopia if you ask me to purge you of the Hulk…but you must purge him willingly…you must renege him to me…Do you forsake Hulk into my hands Banner?…Do you wash him from your soul?”
As Hulk smashed through the house, and Bruce’s family screamed….Hulk looked into Banner’s eyes and raised a clenched fist…Die puny fools!!!
“What do you want Banner?” asked Loki
“I want…I want to…forsake Hulk!”
and with that Banner found himself in a dark room…chained…and cold!
“What no?…no?…you tricked me you bastard…you tricked me!”
Dugan, Danvers and SHIELD raided the cave as Iron Man AND Cap led the charge but all they found was green mist…Loki was gone…Hulk was gone…the mist slowly seeped into Danvers pocket as all wondered where the hell did Hulk go???
“You tricked me! Liar!!!!” Banner yelled at the nothingness in front him.
“Of course he did. Such is the way of the jester, the mischievousness of the wicked…he is the ultimate trickster…he is my brother Loki!” a voice weakly spat as Banner fought to saw a shadow chained beaten figure on the ground…it was Thor.
“Do not despair mortal…nor you you fallen God…Loki will succeed…he always finds a way,” his voice echoed as Loki laughed at the two, “Thor you fool, all I had to do was trick Blake into casting you out…all it took was my deviance in the skin of Jane Foster and within a blink, not even Odin’s power could stop my spell…for once Blake does not want to be your vessel…your essence is nowhere but in limbo…and thus, I have found a trap for such purgatory limbos. Without your consciousness, Blake cannot transform into Thor. Thor is dormant physically while the mind is trapped here in this plane. Simple theory…without the mind the body cannot exist. So as Blake threw your mind in the bin of Loki, so to say, expelled you…all that remains is a mortal with a Thunder God’s power that he cannot tap into. Thor will never emerge once his mind is locked away here. AND without Thor, Blake never has to worry about endangering Foster…even trade I think…he sold you out… HAHAHAHAHA….as for Banner, haha…I granted your wish fool….you wished to forsake Hulk…you should have been more specific in your wish…cuz you didn’t ask for utopia…I offered it to you…but you must still ask for it…READ THE FINEPRINT FOOL! Now you two lie here in darkness…and watch as I decimate all the planet…all the heroes that would uphold justice on Midgard will fall…the mighty will fall…and I will enslave them all…from Hulk to the costumed heroes to the robots of Midgard…and I will lead a final assault on Asgard brother…with Hulk as my general…unstoppable…and earth’s forces prepared to lay waste and siege to Asgard….these groups of heroes and misfits will form my army…my legion…and I will force Ragnarok on Odin…and on Asgard!!!!”
We pan to see Danvers in her quarters showering, as the green mist emerges and forms into Loki…he comes up behind her…and as she sees his reflection…we hear a thud in the bathroom…and we see Loki emerging…shifting form into Carol Danvers…
“Now Let’s get this show on the road…time to bring the Hulk to town” as Danvers laughs slyly, “Go forth Hulk and rain destruction down on all”
We then see Hulk battling and killing at Washington, and we see him battering War Machine etc…while Danvers laughs her ass off…and Banner and Thor watch on in shock in the dark…as Loki’s plans all unfold.
****Present Day
The RED ALERT ALARM SIGNALS ALL OVER THE TRISKELLION AS THE AVENGERS GATHER…Fury mans the Director’s Control Ops Main Chair…everyone is scrambling as we see on the monitors the Hulk rampaging. He has reached New York…and all the SHIELD UNITS ARE BEING PUMMELLED.
“Pull em’ all out…all the agents…we’re going in strong” Cap yells.
“We ready?” Barton yells…
“Nice suit Clint!” Stark hits at Barton.
“Name’s Hawkeye…back at you Stark” Barton shot back, “now how’s we flying to New York?”
Danvers stood alongside Fury’s chair…smiling…while Sharon Carter glanced suspiciously.
Iron Man, Cap and Hawkeye then came into the hangar…and the brilliant quinjet lay before them.
“Hurry boys, we have little time” Cap yelled…as they locked in, loaded and shot off towards the city…
“Destination: Times Square Sir” a robotic voice played over the quinjet.
“That’s Jarvis…he’s our pilot!” Stark quipped as Cap and Hawkeye looked over at each other in amazement. Cap caught glimpse of Carter in his monitor…as the jet shot out the carrier and towards the ground.
****Cap’s return and intro to SHIELD
Flashback to Cap’s first training spar with Carter. He and her go at it like hell.
“Wow…Nick…this is the..the CAP!”
“In front our very eyes Dugan” Fury remarked, “Tony’s like a kid around him!”
All we see is Cap training and fighting…prepping as he becomes embedded in this new world he knows nothing of.
We see him fumbling a record player with a CD, we see him in a club…
“Tony, this aint a Carnival?” he yells as girls jump him…
Only to have him run back to transport and to the Triskellion…
He runs into Sharon, and we see him being asked to dinner in her quarters.
They have many, many dinners.
He tells her of his visits to the cemetery…all his friends, his past loves…all gone…Bucky…his wing-man…lost in battle…he tells her he feels displaced…not belonging in this time…and we see an amazing sight…she shuts him up with a kiss.
Sharon and Cap train, work, fight…and we see Sharon returning Steve Rogers to our world…bringing him into the light…making him feel welcome again….loved again…making him feel accepted again.
Cap’s thoughts are broken as Stark yells… “Time to eject”
They are shot from the jet…Stark flies off…and Cap and Hawkeye via jetpacks land on the ground, with Iron Man landing after them…it’s majestic as the three land….Then we see Widow, Wasp and Hank…on a SHIELD MOBILE GROUND RACER…speeding towards them…
WE HEAR THE CRY AT LONG LAST…
CAPTAIN AMERICA YELLS “AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!!!”
As they all engage formation to confront Hulk…who just a few feet away from them, has an ambulance in hand…which he flings aside like a pebble..and laughs…
“HAHA…AVENGERS?….ASSEMBLE?…AAAAAAA.HHHHHHH….HULK SMASH” as he charges the heroes. Pym grows just a tad bigger than Hulk and rams into him…it is rough and hardcore. Pym KICKS Hulk to the ground as Stark hit him with a repulsor ray, and Hawkeye then hits multiple arrows in Hulk’s eyes to blind him…and Cap leaps into Hulk..using his Shield to barrage blows all over Hulk’s face…Widow follows up with Hawkeye’s knife and uses her lasers simultaneously to assist Cap in the assault.
Pym yells “Janet…time for you to go…your recon work is done…head back!”
“No…I won’t leave you…I’m staying” as she recalls Stark and Widow asking them to become part of the team, after all their Pym particles tech was all due to research funded by SHIELD, and now they realized they were in too deep. Hank knew he could only fight if he was in giant form, and Fury knew he would be formidable in battle…but Janet was there for surveillance only…and now she was scared Hulk would harm her husband.
“Janet…leave!!!”
but before he could get a response…Hulk sent Cap and Widow clattering into Pym and they flew through a shop.
Hulk suddenly grew stronger and began battering Pym, who tried to shield Cap and Widow, Iron Man flew and lunged at Hulk, maximizing strength and took him to the air, while Hawkeye shot vibranium arrows to pierce Hulk, but Hulk overturned Stark and punched him…while they both fell to ground. Before Hawkeye could run to Stark, Hulk flung a sewer top at him, and gashed in his side, knocking him over in immense pain. The Avengers were struggling.
Back at SHIELD -
“Don’t move bitch!” as Carter pressed her gun to the back of Danver’s head…
“What the hell?” Fury and Hill both yelled
“This isn’t Carol…I checked her room…she’s frozen cold…DEAD!”
“Who the hell are you?” Fury yelled as he pulled his gun too.
“Loki is bored. Time to greet my minion” he said as he melted through the helicarrier floor and shot out to the battle scene.
Fury, Hill and Carter ran through to the Cell…to alert Blake…who was in the corner huddled…he was scared!
Cap and Iron Man teamed up as they fought ray by blast, flowing with shield throws at Hulk, with Widow and Pym landing blows…Wasp unscrewed billboards and dropped on Hulk, and she even drove the quinjet into him…used guns, rockets but the Avengers could not find the way to kill him…till Loki appeared in true form…with monsters of ASGARD at his side.
“Frost Giant, son of Ymir, Fire Giant, servant of Surtur, assist my green son…Destroy and Wreak Havoc!”
Blake was shocked at what was ensuing on-screen…
“No…enemies of Asgard…no…monsters have come from Hela’s hole!”
“Speak normal dammit” Fury yelled.
“Jane…Jane….NOOOO!!!” Blake yelled as he shoved aside Fury and Hill…
On the screen, we saw Iron Man battered and trying to protect civilians from the Frost Giant, and emerging from the wrecked ambulance lay a bloody Jane Foster…while Iron Man shielded them.
Hawkeye and co. were not faring better against the Fire Giant…and Hulk was laying waste to the heroes.
Banner saw this and realised he was at fault…and cried…and yelled…
Whilst Thor sat defeated and discouraged…only to hear Blake’s voice begging…
“Thor…where are you? Please return? THORRRRR…..SAVE JANNNEEEEEE”
Loki never counted on Blake actually yearning for Thor again…he miscalculated when he placed Foster in danger…suddenly the chains of Thor broke…and he was free….free at last…and he immediately unshackled Banner…they were free…
“Thor, break us out this room”
“Banner know this…my vessel is calling for me…I know where I must go…yours however is not calling to you…if we leave here…your mind may roam and end up in infinite abyss…it may be lost forever…as it seems Hulk does not want you back in his mind!”
“Do it Thor..now!”
And in a heartbeat the dark room was battered by Thor’s hand and crumbled….with a flash emerging.
Loki knew what was happening and he felt his heart drop…he was now scared…Thor was free…so too was Banner!
At the Triskellion, Blake felt Thor’s essence…and knocked the stick….
Suddenly on the ground, lightning struck and we see Thor…ready for battle with Mjolnir in hand…
“For the innocent…for Midgard…for my Father…FOR ASGARD” as he attacked the 2 giants, and hammered blows upon them. Iron Man quickly ushered an injured Dugan, Foster and co. away as they were the last civilians. Hulk was enraged but he was Hulk, not Banner…and he found himself attacked by all Avengers.
Thor quickly hammered the Fire Giant to the ground, while Iron Man pummelled the Frost giant with his heat ray…and as Loki caught Thor’s eyes…Hulk gave the thunderclap which flung Widow and Barton, who had an arrow in his side, through a truck…whilst a building half-collapsed on Hank…and the Wasp was nowhere in sight. Cap was grimacing on the ground, and before Iron Man could intervene, Hulk flung the Shield at Stark and knocked him away…dazed. The Frost Giant then took it to Iron Man. And as Thor geared to rush Loki, Hulk ran at him and began pummelling fists. Loki floated as he watched this battle with his brother and the beast…New York was lit with lightning…as SHIELD watched in horror…the city was being torn apart by Hulk and Thor…but as both stood weary…Thor began swinging his hammer for a killblow…he saw Banner…Banner suddenly ran into Hulk’s body and merged….
“Friend…do you have the beast tamed?”
Hulk turned back into Bruce…the small frail human Banner.
“I think so…I…aahhhhh” Bruce yelled as Loki flung Hawkeye’s knife through his abdomen.
“Hulk and Banner are expired…weak…and over-with” Loki yelled as he flew off to finish the Avengers.
“Do not RUN BROTHER!” Thor yelled as he pounced to engage Loki but as he leapt the Fire Giant caught him with his mace and knocked his helmet off…and his hammer to the floor…and began beating Thor with no mercy…such was the Fire Creature’s rage that when he failed to lift Mjolnir…he rammed his frustration into Thor’s skull…
Loki suddenly found his Frost Giant taming the Avengers…and Loki then used his magicks to aid in their fall.
“Avengers disassembled!” he yelled.
****Just as Loki is about to finish off Cap and The Avengers
We return to the start of the film…the white light is surrounding the city…lightning is following a leaping figure….HULK IS DESCENDING TOWARDS LOKI…AND HE IS SWINGING MJOLNIR…AND HE HURLS IT TOWARDS THE WICKED GOD….
As it speeds towards Loki, the 2 Giants rush to form a shell over Loki and Mjolnir disintegrates them….
Loki is in shock and tries to grip the hammer…only to find he cannot lift it…and Hulk lands a right on him…sending him into a wall. Hulk stamps and crushes hands on Loki…and grabs him by the throat…Thor is up to his feet as the Avengers are brutally wounded but witnessing these events…
“The mind must die Hulk…I held both your minds before…I can end them as I please…” and as Loki says this he spits a green liquid into Hulk’s face and this acidic liquid crawls into his ears and into his head…Hulk is in pain…bawling…Thor screams and runs over to save him…only to find Banner…his face burnt…blood leaking out his head…Bruce Banner and the Hulk is dead!!!
Thor then calls Mjolnir to him and smashes Loki’s hands…..and as he is about to kill Loki…his hammer is held back by a hand…
Thor turns in anger only to see Odin at his side…and the Valkyries with Sif and Heimdall alongside.
“Loki’s machinations were well-conceived, he hid well here in Midgard…but your anguish led us to you…and to him…” said Odin
The Avengers looked on in awe…as Thor huffed and puffed with rage…
“My brother is mine to kill…he has caused many deaths here”
“And he will suffer in Asgard…but he must be held in trial first” Heimdall added.
Odin grabbed Loki and threw him to the Valkyries who bound him, and Heimdall threw him on his back…and disappeared.
Odin and Sif stood with Thor.
“You fought bravely and well, Son, your lessons, your training are you…”
Odin was interrupted by Thor “Begone My Lord, see to Asgard…I will see to Midgard. Your son has done his duty today!”
“So be it…till we encounter each other next” and Odin disappeared.
“Thor, please do not be like this” Sif cried
“Loki will escape and he will cause bloodshed if he is not put down like a rabid dog, Sif, and you will all cry when Ragnarok comes, and you will ask for Thor…you will shed tears for my hammer and my fists!”
“Will you come to our aid my love?” Sif yearned.
“Goodbye Sif” Thor whispered as she wiped her eyes and disappeared.
Fury and co. arrived on the scene, surveying the brutality and despair; Thor helped Captain America to his feet, whilst Iron Man held Hawkeye and Widow,
“I have yet to introduce myself…I am Thor” he exclaimed.
“Kinda figured that much. You make sure to sign up with us…cuz I don’t think I can take you ” Captain America added. Thor smiled as he surveyed the Avengers.
“Quickly get them to the Helicarrier!” Fury yelled.
“It’s Wasp and Giant-Man…they’re in bad shape!” Hill yelled.
The ground-recovery tended to New York as the Avengers, including Thor went to the Triskellion. The day was won, but so many had fallen – innocents and even Banner. It was a dark day indeed.
****EPILOGUE
The rain falls as New York is commencing rebuilding of the city. The sad song plays as the city lifts to get back on its feet. But the Avengers have suffered loss as well. We see Banner’s dead body kept in the Triskellion under the watch of Fury, Dum-Dum and Agent Hill.
“If anyone’s gonna slice and dice that guy…it’s gonna be us” he tells Dugan.
We continue to see the rebuilding occurring of New York…and we see Natasha helping Clint out of bed with his stomach wrapped tightly.
“I hope they burned the knife Nat”
“I saw to it they did” she tells him with tears in her eyes, “Now let’s get you dressed Hero.”
Tony gets a condolence tele-call from Rhodey… “Well Jim I aint badly hurt like you but pretty soon me and you…we’re gonna have a serious talk…suit to suit!”
“Looking forward to it Tony, give my regards to all” Rhodey replied.
As Tony turned off the monitor, we see him look out the window and Thor is floating in the night-sky…we hear Thor’s voice-over “Of course, Nicholas Fury and Anthony Stark, I am indebted to the Avengers. May we carry on the course of Justice gallantly till the halls of Valhalla welcome us”…
Tony looked up into the mirror to fix his tie…
“Thank God we got our own God…hammer inclusive!”
We see Sharon kiss Steve as he comes out his room…
“I missed you Rogers, Thank God you’re alive…did I tell you that since the fight?”
“Only everytime we see each other. And I won’t get tired of hearing it!” he replied as he held her hand, “I can’t believe we’re going to this thing…my first since being back…I wish it weren’t so…I hate this part of war…”
As they walked off, we saw his room door closing with the Shield over his costume…and as the door locked…Sharon held his hand tightly and said to him,
“Me too Steve…me too”
The Entire SHIELD FACILITY attends the funeral for all fallen agents in the recent incident. We hear Fury, Rogers, Stark delivering speeches as we see the crowd…agents and Avengers…we see Thor hovering keeping watch over the Helicarrier so no disturbance affect this auspicious occasion, as he says his piece to Blake, pledging undying allegiance and protection, via inner monologue as well.
We see the faces of Banner on the eulogy page, and we see Carol Danvers picture on-stage, followed by Janet Pym’s picture…the fallen Wasp.
In the crowd, Rogers and Stark tends to an inconsolable Hank Pym.
Fury ends the procession, “and may God bless all these departed…for they are all our Mighty Avengers!”
Thor then signals 20 lightning bolts for the 20 fallen SHIELD AGENTS.
We now see all Avengers – Iron Man, Cap, Widow, Thor and Hawkeye enter the Quinjet as they are about to embark on the new mission.
Fury and Hill sees the Jet off…as Cap orders the Avengers to be weary…he will not lose another soldier.
Fury smiles as he watched them jet off…and as he put on his daily monitor of National Security, he gets a voicemail from Tony Stark –
“Fury, the day we found Cap in the cold, there were some bogeys in the vicinity that day, Jarvis picked em up…I did too…but they were unregistered and disappeared in a flash…like frickin mermaids Fury, and don’t tell me they were SHIELD agents…cuz I know they weren’t…I used the SHIELD satellites and I know they were unknowns Nick…DISAPPEARED INTO THE COLD SEA…and I know you know they were watching us that day…and you said nothing…which means they are your people outside SHIELD…or it means you are afraid of them and have some kinda secret deal with them Nicky…either way when I get back from this mission…we gotta clear this BS up!”
“Hill, how’s Pym?” Fury asks lazily to divert his attention
“Sir, with all due respect…just like Doc Samson in therapy, I have no friggin clue”.
We zone in on Pym in the Triskellion…working steadily in his lab and on his PC…he seems a recluse and he is looking like hell…he plugs in what seems to be some sort of assembled machine and whispers stealthily, “I won’t let this happen again. I’ll see to it!” he cries and he wipes his eyes and then looks up at his screen…
