What I was thinking for the third X-Men movie would have Magneto reviving Mr. Sinister, and having him set loose on New York. The X-Men would have to try and stop Nathaniel Essex before he unleashes an unnamed creature onto the world. We of course know this to Apocalypse.
The X-Men will have to deal with Essex and his virus (of course, the Legacy Virus) that will destroy most of the world so he can rebuild it in his image. They will also encounter Magneto’s brotherhood and there will be spectacular battles across New York.
The end of this third film will conclude with Essex in fact awakening Apocalypse, and in the process, Jean Grey is resurrected, but of course, holds the Phoenix inside her.
X-MEN
Logan – after returning from Alkali Lake, he decides to stay with Xavier to fight against Essex and his virus.
Scott Summers – he is mourning the loss of Jean. We see him becoming very dangerous to himself and others, especially in fights against the brotherhood and Essex.
Storm – she harbors feelings for Logan, but holds them back as he sees in still hurts from the death of Jean.
Rogue – her loyalty is brought into question when she finds out she is related to Essex.
Bobby Drake – becomes a full X-Man, and a prominent member.
Professor Xavier – leader of the X-Men. His war against Magneto turns darker after the release of Essex, and Magneto’s testing on Danielle Moonstar.
Danielle Moonstar – a former student of Xavier’s. She is tortured by Magneto and his brotherhood to find out the answers to reviving Essex. Danielle attacks the X-Mansion after going temporarily insane from the torture.
Beast – also an old student of Xavier’s. He is working undercover for the White House (similar to Last Stand) and finds out when Danielle goes missing. He investigates, finding her after her torture. He follows her when she attacks the X-Mansion, and stays with the X-Men afterward.
BROTHERHOOD
Magneto – leader. He becomes obsessed with raising homo superior and resurrects Essex in order to obtain a small sample of the virus.
Mystique – Magneto’s number two, and begins to disagree with Magneto’s methods of world dominance. She will often reference herself from her former life, one that was lived many years ago. She also has a connection to Essex.
Pyro – a student from Xavier who Magneto swayed to his side in X-Men 2.
Wanda and Pietro Maximoff – twins who are used to help summon the coming of Essex.
OTHER:
Nathaniel Essex – an immortal geneticist who was imprisoned when he created a virus capable of altering non-mutants and killing pre-existing mutants. He is the loyal servant to an unnamed entity.
