Composer: A film score (also sometimes called background music or incidental music) is original music written specifically to accompany a film. The score forms part of the film's soundtrack, which also usually includes dialogue and sound effects, and comprises a number of orchestral, instrumental or choral pieces called cues which are timed to begin and end at specific points during the film in order to enhance the dramatic narrative and the emotional impact of the scene in question. Scores are written by one or more composers, under the guidance of the film's director and/or producer, and are then usually performed by an ensemble of musicians – most often comprising an orchestra or band, instrumental soloists, and choir or vocalists – and recorded by a sound engineer.
Alan Silverstri (Notable Works: The Predator, Reindeer Games, Cast Away): Silverstri is a wonderful composer who's now known as the composer behind Marvel's Avengers. Back then he hadn't really done anything comic book-y. So initially it would be a challenge for him to score a character like Superman, while He would certainly add a mythic feel to it, personally I'd have him score the film because of his work on films like Cast Away were it was strictly a drama score that had to attach it self to the inner soul of a character. Silverstri is by far one of the most talented composers working and his score could have really added something to the score for Flyby.

Director: Directors are responsible for overseeing creative aspects of a film under the overall control of the film producer. They often develop the vision for a film and carry out the vision, deciding how the film should look, in other words they make their vision come to life. They are responsible for turning the script into a sequence of shots. They also direct what tone it should have and what an audience should gain from the cinematic experience. Film directors are responsible for deciding camera angles, lens effects and lighting with the help of the cinematographer and set design with the production designer. They will often take part in hiring the cast and key crew members. They coordinate the actors' moves, or blocking and also may be involved in the writing, financing and editing of a film.
J.J. Abrams (Notable Works {As a Director}: Felicity {T.V. Series Episodes: Todd Mulcahy Parts 1 & 2 [1999]} Alias {T.V. Series Episodes: Truth Be Told [2001], Almost Thirty Years [2002], The Telling [2003], Lost {T.V. Series Episodes: Pilot Parts 1 & 2 [2004]): When the film was being prepped J.J. Had practically begged for the opportunity to direct, but was turned down in favor of McG and Brett Ratner but with option to Direct the sequel. Honestly as a writer J.J. Had spent time to learn what a director does not to mention he has had time behind a camera with the T.V. Series he developed, and starting small giving him practice allowed him to learn the mechanics but be very open to suggestions from the producers. He might have a problem with Lense flare but He is the best person to recognize his own vision for Superman.

Screenwriter: Screenwriters are responsible for researching the story, developing the narrative, writing the screenplay, and delivering it, in the required format, to Development Executives. Screenwriters therefore have great influence over the creative direction and emotional impact of the screenplay and, arguably, of the finished film. They either pitch original ideas to Producers in the hope that they will be optioned or sold, or screenwriters are commissioned by a producer to create a screenplay from a concept, true story, existing screen work or literary work, such as a novel, poem, play, comic book or short story.
J.J. Abrams (Notable Works {As a Writer}: Armageddon, Felicity {T.V. Series, Creator}, Alias {T.V. Series Creator}): J.J. Had wrote a script that was a massive re-imagining of the Superman Mythos, keeping only a few of the Bare essentials. He almost completely changed the character's origin, lineage, and purpose. But the script he turned in was a page turner, it was a well written work that was fun, intellectual, and overall entertaining. It's something the Mass Non-Comic Book Film Audience would have declared a smash hit. In all honesty I love the script, I'd love to see it as either an Elseworlds Graphic Novel or a DC Universe Original Animated Movie. It's something that is pretty different but fun, and I feel like a lot of fans would really enjoy the film despite the differences.

Jor-El (Height: 6' 2"Age: 40's-60's {End of Script projects his age to be in his 60's}): Ruggedly Handsome 39 Years Old, King of Krypton. Having lorded over krypton for decades his Brother had took a band of Kryptonians and started a civil war that would engulf the Planet. Out of desperation he had sent his son, Prince Kal-El, to Earth allowing the future hero to fulfill his destiny.
Liam Neeson (Height: 6' 4", Age: 52 {As of 2004} Notable Works: Excalibur, Schindler's List, Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace): Liam is the person I thought of reading The Script, he has always had a regal sense to him that perfectly matched Abram's take on the character. Liam has the power to really convey kingship and could have acted the hell out of this script.
Lara (Height: 5' 9", Age: late 30's-Late 50's {Late 50's at time of Death}): Queen of Krypton wife to King Jor-El mother to Kal-El. Highly objecting to Sending Kal-El to Earth, but relenting that it is the best option for her child. She is sent out of Krypton's capital by her Husband in order to save her from Kata-Zor's Wrath.
Cate Blanchett (Height: 5' 8½", Age: 35 {As of 2004} Notable Works: Elizabeth, The Gift, The Lord of the Rings {Trilogy}): Despite not really being a Lord Of The Rings fan I loved Cate's performance. She really had a heart for the character and it's something I would love to see added to Lara. She has the perfect look that is alien with humanity when in make as Galadriel.
Taga (Height: 6' 1", Age: Unknown) A turtle-like kryptonian who serves as Lara's Personal Body guard and assistant, taking her from Krypton and putting her in Hiding to spare her from Kata-Zor's Wrath. {Note: I have no idea where the character image came from, i found it on google and it was the only image that bore resemblance to the look of Taga as described in the script}
Doug Jones (Height: 6' 3½", Age: 44 {As of 2004} Notable Works: Night Angel, Monkey Bone, Men in Black 2): In all honesty Doug has built a career on characters like this. Heavy Make-Up and solid acting chops is perfect for Doug and Taga.
Jonathan Kent (Height: 5' 8", Age: 40's-50's) Martha Kent (Height: 5' 4", Age: 40's-50's): Clark Kent's Adoptive Parents, a kindly couple of Kansas origin unable to concieve child by natural means. One Night while home Kal-El's ship had blasted into their field, when Jonathan and Martha approached the ship they found the thing they've wanted most... A baby.
Dennis Quaid (Height: 6', Age: 50 {As of 2004}Notable Works: Enemy Mine, Dreamscape, Far From Heaven) Julian Moore (Height: 5' 4", Age: 44 {As of 2004} Notable Works: Hannibal, Evolution, Far From Heaven): This is all due to their dual performances in Far From Heaven, they really played the couple I could see as The Kents. Dennis, my 80's Superman Choice, is just simply perfect for Pa Kent, while Moore is a beautiful actress who could really adapt to the role and really take on a Motherly persona.

Clark Kent/Superman (Height: 6' 3", Age: 20's): 29 year-old warrior. Born Prince Kal-El of Krypton, he is the key to krypton's destiny, as prophesied he was to be sent off away from the Kryptonian Civil War, only to return in a time of Crises to save Krypton and bring about peace. On Earth Raised as Clark Kent he lived for years wondering who he is. Having set out to find who he really is and his purpose in life he came to Metropolis and became Daily Planet Reporter by day but in the presence of crime Superman.
Zachary Quinto (Height: 6' 1", Age: 27{As of 2004} Notable Works: Haunted {T.V. Series Season of 2002, Episode "Grevious Angels"} The Agency {T.V. Series Season of 2002, Episode "Air Lex"} 24 {Season of 2003-2004}): I wanted to go ballsy and original. Zachary Quinto is a wonderful actor who can just simply portray the farmboy qualities that Clark has and the Alienation of Superman. Zach is really the Superman I envisioned in Abram's script in both looks and Persona. This is a role he could really adapt to be perfect in.
Lois Lane (Height: 5' 7", Age: 20's): A beautiful, brunette Girl.Lois Lane is an investigative reporter at the Daily Planet in Metropolis, and Superman's main love interest. Her closest co-workers are Clark Kent, Jimmy Olsen and Perry White. She is a strong and assertive woman more than capable of handling herself in dangerous situations.
Bianca Kajlich (Height: 5' 8", Age: 27 {As of 2004} Notable Works: Boston Public {T.V. Series Season of 2000-2001} Halloween Resurrection, Dawson's Creek {T.V. Series Seasons of 2002-2003}): I am a huge fan of Bianca I absolutely adore her as an actress. To be honest it was hard to cast Lois, the first few lines I read of her's didn't really lend to an actress, no one popped in my mind but there was a certain line where she opens up to Clark in a sarcastic Manner and Bianca's face just popped in my mind. I have seen her before in the same T.V. Series I found my Nathan Drake Choice - Oliver Hudson. So once Bianca entered my mind she was locked in for the role.
Perry White (Height: 5' 10", Age: 50's-60's): the gruff, white-haired fast talking bastard Editor-in-Chief.
Rutger Hauer (Height: 6' 1", Age: 60 {As of 2004} Notable Works: Blade Runner, Omega Doom, Warrior Angels): He's Rutger Hauer. A genuine acting Legend. He's played practically every role there is from hero to villain. He had this role from the getgo. I knew I was going into this using Rutger as Perry.
Jimmy Olsen (Height: 5' 7", Age: 20's): A Brooklyn-born somewhat effeminate twenty-something photographer.
David Anders (Height: 6', Age: 23{As of 2004} Notable Works: Alias {T.V. Series}, The Source): My original choice for the role was Wil Wheaton of Star Trek fame, but at age of 32 {As of 2004} he was too old for the character Abram's described. So instead I looked at the supporting cast of Abram's T.V. Series and I found David who is a wonderful supporting player who, while a bit tall for the role, could really play this version of Jimmy Olsen without making the character offensive to the homosexual community {A trait Perry White confirms in the script} Now I understand that the character could have been changed into a woman but I found that to seem tastless in an idea and take away from Jimmy. I like this version a lot.

Mr. Devaney (Height: 6' 2", Age: 40's-50's): A big guy in his early 50's. Short, cropped red hair Brown suit, no tie. The Kent's vile landlord. {Note: As Devaney was an original character the image I used for comparison was that of Steve Lombard of the Daily Planet due to the similarities in physical appearance.}
Powers Boothe (Height: 6' 1½", Age: 56 {As of 2004} Notable Works: Rapid Fire, Men of Honor, Frailty): Another acting legend who's deep voice and persona stature were a key aspect of Casting Mr. Devaney. Powers knows what he's doing and since this is a small role I think he would really enjoy paying the bills and being part of a footnote in Supeman History.
Dr. Lex Luthor (Height: 6' 2", Age: 50's): severe-faced 50 year-old man with closely-cropped hair. C.I.A. Agent Dr. Lex Luthor, a government specialist on Alien lifeforms. In truth he is actually a kryptonian agent sent to Earth by Kata-Zor in order to kill Kal-El and thus ending the prophecy of Kal-El's return.
Kevin Bacon (Height: 5' 10½", Age: 46 {As of 2004} Notable Works: Stir of Echoes, Hallow Man, Mystic River): Ed Harris is a popular choice for the role, and he's an OK fit. But I wanted an actor who would give the role more style than anyone else. Someone who could really rellish the Super Villain feel to Lex and I came to Kevin Bacon. He's the kind of actor who would pull of one of the most memorable performances in the film, if not the most. Kevin is a veteran actor who doesn't know how to give bad performances, he does great no matter what crap film he does so casting him in something like this, with the grade of performance he would give, might make die hard fans care a little less that Lex is a Kryptonian.

Kata-Zor (Height: 6' 2", Age: 40's-50's): Jor-El's Brother seeking the Kingship of Krypton. He over takes Krypton thus temporarily winning the war, afraid of the Day Kal-El will return and reclaim the kingship of Krypton. In order to prevent Destiny from taking hold he sends his best warrior -- His son: Ty-Zor, to find and kill Kal-El before the ancient prophecy can be realized therefore winning the war.
Ralph Fiennes (Height: 6', Age: 42 {As of 2004} Notable Works: Schindler's List, Strange Days, Red Dragon): I am a huge fan of Ralph Fiennes. He's done a lot of films over the years with Liam so casting them as brothers might be typical but it works. They're good friends and they have the chemistry that would allow them to successfully portray two brothers in a war agaisnt one another. Ralph Really could do a great job with this one.
Ty-Zor (Height: 6' 3", Age: 30's): Handsome 30 Year Old, son of Kata-Zor. He embarks to Earth after discovering Kal-El's Presence there. He aims to kill his cousin and become the new Prince of Krypton.
Joseph Fiennes (Height: 6', Age: 34 {As of 2004} Notable Works: Shakespear in Love, Enemy at the Gates, Killing Me Softly): I know it's pretty weird and crazy to cast Brothers as Father and Son. But I wanted a notable resemblance and I really though Joseph was a perfect fit for the villain. He has a small passing resemblance to Quinto allowing the idea they're cousins work well. Joseph is a great actor so he could pull this role off without a hitch.
