For their first big screen outing I think it best to stick to the origin story from "The White Violin" storyline. I have only cast the major players here. Most of the supporting characters...... I just didn't sweat. Nor did I cast ALL of the main characters as their ten year old selves... only Number 5. I honestly believe that Gerard Way will be very much holding a strong influence throughout the entire project as well, and that the story will follow very close to the source material.
Executive Producer Gerard Way
Directing Duties Will Go To Tim Burton
Musical Score By None Other Than Gerard Way
Additional Music By My Chemical Romance
Olyphant(The Girl Next Door, Rockstar) can pull off the lonely tragic hero and be very memorable. I also think he and Greene might develop good onscreen chemistry with their characters.
Kraken looks and acts as if he were modeled after Holloway(Lost).... so why fight it. I really think he is the only obvious choice, and with his character having so much friction with Spaceboy he is perfect.
Greene(Twilight) has the looks and spunk for Rumor, but also can do dark and brooding. Plus she is smokin' hot and maybe she will be able to pull in the "Twilight" crowd.
Glover(Charlies Angels,Beowulf,Willard)can do creepy better than most. He would be able to bring that goofy but spooky feel to Seance. He is also just an amazing actor.
Max Records(Where The Wild Things Are) very much has the look for Number 5, and it would make my skin crawl to hear the words of a 60 year old hardened killer coming from him.
Deschanel(Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) can pull off almost anything and would nail the Demented White Violin.
The Horror is seldom used in either of the TUA stories but I believe His story will unfold more in later stories so Wilson is my pick for the late hero. Fans will be sympathetic and mourn for him even if he has a small part, and we have an established actor to develop the Horrors character in later films.
Who else but Malkovich(In the Line of Fire,Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy,The Man in the Iron Mask) could play a cold, detached, alien father figure out to save the world at the expense of the adoptive children in his care?
Malcolm McDowell(A Clockwork Orange, Caligula, Heroes) has just got one of the best voices in cinema, and his is the voice in my head when Dr. Pogo speaks.
Well that's it folks. If you think I'm Batshitcrazy...... you're probably right.
