Story:
Ororo Munroe is orphaned in Africa, and sold on the markets to slavers in Egypt. It is only through perseverance that she becomes a premiere thief, and faces not only the wrath of the thieves guild, but the power of the Shadow King. It comes full circle when she returns to the Serengeti plains of Kenya as an answer to prayer instead of an accursed child.
Cast:
Ororo Monroe: Keke Palmer
- A talented young black actress. A talented young black mutant. Makes sense to me. This is storm before she becomes the goddess and all that, she's just a troubled girl with a rough past who has everything stacked against her, who finds out she can talk to the sky. I cast Storm young because that's how Storm's story starts. It's crazy when she's a kid.
Achmed el-Gibar: Arnold Vosloo
- Ororo's teacher and mentor runs the Thieves Guild in Africa. So when Ororo has a crisis of conscience, he's the first to go dark on her. Her fellow theives aren't any more appreciative, especially once Shadow King gets a hold of them.
Ahmal Farouk, The Shadow King: Sendhil Ramamurthy
- The Main villain is a mark that has considerable power, and is able to totally destroy Ororo's entire life. His interest in her deepens when he discovers her abilities, and their potential uses. I cast him skinny because can make for a more charming villain that way, instead of an old set of Muslim stereotypes.
Remy Lebau, Gambit: Taylor Kitsch
- Playing off of his role in her age regression storyline, and tying into his role in Wolverine's Origins movie, Gambit would be a thief that Ororo looks up to, who shows her the potential of mutant power. Obviously, Taylor Kitsch would reprise his role.
Professor Charles Xavier: James McAvoy
- Another fun part of Storm's storyline is meeting a young Xavier, and stealing from him. Her being caught for the first time by this telepath, and his inability to catch her afterwards form the basis for their friendship later. Obviously James McAvoy would reprise his role.
David Munroe: Laurence Fishburne
- Just a good actor, who would be nice to see in a role like this. A good photographer in a bad situation who sacrifices to make sure his daughter survives.
N'Dare Munroe: Gina Torres
- Because Gina would make a good storm herself, but may need a dialect coach for the African accent. I'd love to see her in a role like this, even though it'd just be a brief early movie thing.
