Russell Crowe Open To 'MAN OF STEEL' Prequel As Film Becomes #1 Superhero Reboot

Actor Russell Crowe, who portrays Jor-El in Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel" has let it be known that he has no qualms about starring in a prequel film that focuses on his character's exploits on Krypton. Is that a film you'd be interested in seeing?

Apparently actor Russell Crowe is being bombarded with fan questions on twitter about whether there are any discussions being had about a "Man of Steel" prequel that focuses on the exploits of Jor-El before Krypton's explosion. Said Crowe on twitter, "A lot of you are asking about a KRYPTON prequel, if that's something you feel strongly about let @Legendary pictures know your thoughts." But Crowe, isn't necessarily campaigning for such a film to be made but he's simply responding to a rather large contingent of fans voicing their desires to the award winning actor. Crowe admitted he's a little tired of getting asked that question but he also stated that if a prequel film was indeed given the green light, "I’d give the tights another go."

In somewhat related news, comicbook.com has pointed out that "Man of Steel" ($263M) is now the #1 superhero reboot of all-time at the domestic box office, having recently surpassed Marc Webb's "The Amazing Spider-Man" ($262M).

Of course a movie like this wouldn't be made, most likely. An animated tale would be cool though.

The krypton part was awesome it felt like something straight out of star wars, which is maybe why snyder is now being linked with star wars franchise. Maybe there is more in a directors cut or so. Maybe show origins of brainiac in sequel on krypton.

Also props to mos spiderman did that in 3 months mos has been out for 3 weeks. I expect 320-350 final domestic numbers. Regardless we have a genuine box office hit and terrific reintroduction for the man of steel.

Yes for the prequel, it wouldn't stop or delay MOS 2 because cast and directors would different anyway.

A prequel would be great if it got a NEW sequel that erases Man Of Steel from ever happening.

If you enjoy prequel stories, Kevin J. Anderson's "The Last Days of Krypton" is a pretty good read.
