If various rumours are to be believed, Galactus is expected to take centre stage in Fantastic Four. While the Silver Surfer reportedly won't be his herald in this movie, the world-eating baddie is bound to be a big part of the MCU moving forward, with this reboot likely serving as a launching platform for more stories.
It was recently reported that Antonio Banderas will play Galactus, and while the Uncharted star is an unexpected choice, he's someone we can definitely picture donning that iconic costume and doing the villain justice.
Now, speculation is running rampant online that Banderas is preparing for exactly that!
The actor recently took to social media to reveal that, "I am in the strange and a little exhausting process of building an exact copy of my face for a movie." If this is indeed for Fantastic Four, then a copy of Banderas' face would be needed both for VFX artists and if the plan is for him to don a physical version of Galactus' helmet on set.
Nothing has been confirmed, of course, though this comes right after the main Fantastic Four cast was reportedly revealed. As is so often the case, a few social media scoopers have also reacted to Banderas' photo, strongly hinting it's Galactus-related.
It's believed Fantastic Four was receiving a rewrite when the WGA strike began, so while some pre-production might be taking place, we'd hazard a guess that work on the reboot has largely been halted in recent weeks.
Fantastic Four is set to be released in theaters on February 14, 2025.
