Millennium Films CEO and Red Sonja producer Avi Lerner recently released a statement making it very clear that he had no intention of firing Singer as director despite mounting pressure to do just that after new sexual assault allegations emerged, but it looks like he's been forced to budge... to some degree, at least.
According to Deadline, the fantasy adventure movie has now been removed from the mini-stdio's slate and put squarely on the back burner. Singer remains on board the project for the time being, but that may change if and when the She-Devil with a Sword's reboot does eventually go into production.
Lerner released a follow-up statement claiming that his original comments “came out the wrong way". “I think victims should be heard and this allegation should be taken very, very seriously,” he added. “I just don’t agree to judge by Twitter. I want [the accused] to be judged by the court.”
