With production beginning next month, the Paramount/MGM co-production Hercules has added another cast member. According to Deadline, Lonely Bones and Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time actor Reece Ritchie has joined the Brett Ratner-directed adaptation of the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars (a synopsis for which can be found below. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is set to star as the titular character, while Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, John Hurt, Aksel Hennie and Rebecca Ferguson are also on board. Ritchie will play Iolaus, who is described as "the legendary strongman’s nephew and biggest booster who eagerly promotes the achievements and adventures of Hercules. A poet, Iolaus is forced in the film to also become a warrior alongside his uncle." Hercules is set to hit theaters July 25th, 2014.

Fourteen hundred years ago, a tormented soul walked the earth that was neither man nor god. Hercules was the powerful son of the god king Zeus, for this he received nothing but suffering his entire life. After twelve arduous labors and the loss of his family, this dark, world-weary soul turned his back on the gods finding his only solace in bloody battle. Over the years he warmed to the company of six similar souls, their only bond being their love of fighting and presence of death. These men and woman never question where they go to fight or why or whom, just how much they will be paid. Now the King of Thrace has hired these mercenaries to train his men to become the greatest army of all time. It is time for this bunch of lost souls to finally have their eyes opened to how far they have fallen when they must train an army to become as ruthless and blood thirsty as their reputation has become.

The plot-line sounds like they wanted to rip off The Expendables, throw in a sprinkle of 300 and top it off with a dash of God of War. Including the Rock only makes it more lame...(All Hail the Scorpion King!!! Bwaahahah!)

How is it that Ratner is even still allowed near a movie set, much less direct a movie? A trained circus monkey could do a better job than he can!

After all the Man of Steel hooplah, now something to look forward to. Ratner rocks and Hercules will deliver!

Is this the same guy who annoyed the hell out of me in Transformers 2. You know the dude who screamed all the time. Not like it matters but still looks like him,

I love me some Hercules, and The Rock is badass, Brett Ratner also brought us Rush Hours, and i loved them all, as WELL as Red Dragon, I also loved that, so he dropped the ball on X3... Not everyone's perfect... Hercules needs some big budget love, the kind of love that Kevin Sorbo never got. Bring it on!

I didn't even talk shit about MOS, in a previous thread I said that the trailer actually looks pretty good. I just said Man of Steel hooplah because it's such a big deal that it was great to hear some other news finally. Doesn't mean I was bashing you prick.

But I wasn't bashing on it, though. Geez, you [frick]ers always do this shit to me. I express an opinion and you guys just hound me big time. Calling me a troll, you guys are trolling me. Just leave me to my opinions and you to yours OK jerkoff?
