Deadline has just broken the news that
Fantastic Beasts 3 will no longer commence production in London.
The Batman - which recently moved from London to Liverpool - was put on hold over the weekend, but the plan then was for the next instalment in this franchise to begin shooting today.
It's also been confirmed that
King Richard starring Will Smith has been postponed for now.
There's no word on when work on these Warner Bros. projects will continue, but two weeks is the current delay time for just about everything, so we'll have a better idea by the end of March.
The next
Fantastic Beasts film, which doesn't currently have a title (that probably would have been revealed this week to mark the start of production), is once again being directed by David Yates and is set to be released on November 12th, 2021. This third chapter was going to be set in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with Jude Law's Albus Dumbledore receiving an even bigger role.
Oddly enough, it currently appears as if
The Matrix 4 is still in active production. That's probably down to it filming in studio at the moment, but don't be surprised if that's also delayed (it probably has been already, but with so many films and TV shows being pushed back, news of that has more than likely been lost in the shuffle).
With any luck, we'll have some slightly more positive news to share with you a little later today!
