If you're a fan of comics that have revamped iconic characters, then Nick Percival's LEGENDS: The Enchanted is right up your alley. It's gritty, steampunk inspired imagery and sharp writing give it a memorable edge and separate it from similar takes on classic folklore. If you're completely unfamiliar with the series, which is due out in stores this month, here's an overview:

'Legends is set in a fictional world settled by creatures know as the Enchanted. The world of the Enchanted has much violence spurned on by different technologies, nature, and dark magic. The characters in the Enchanted world come from traditional folklore and literature, and include Goldilox (a deadly mercenary), Hansel and Gretel (psychic exterminators), and Red Hood (a notorious wolf hunter). These traditional characters have grown up and changed into outlaws, vigilantes, [and] bounty hunters. In addition, the characters have become protected by a charm that renders them almost immortal. An exception to this charm is shown when an adult Pinocchio is found violently murdered.'

Today, Heat Vision reports Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment have worked out a deal with Radical Publishing to bring LEGENDS to the big screen:

"Howard and Grazer will produce for Imagine, Barry Levine for Radical...No writer has yet been hired to adapt, nor is it set up at any studio...Executive producers include Jesse Berger, who co-runs Radical Studios with Levine, and the Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein. Radical will package the pic along with their reps at CAA

"Imagine produced the recent “Robin Hood” pic and is trying to put together a cast for its comedy “Fantasy Basketball Camp.” Radical has graphic-novel adaptations in the works including “Last Days of American Crime,” based on the work by Rick Remender to which Sam Worthington is attached to star, and “Oblivion,” being developed with “Tron Legacy” director Joe Kosinski."

This looks Amazing!
I never got into Fables, but I always liked the bases in which it stands. Classic fairy tales, with a dark and sinister twist. Plus, Radical is an incredible comic distributor. Those that have seen Calibur or their Hercules comics would agree.
Must find, must read, must find more...
Thanx Multi :D

This looks very interesting. They should make it into an Avatar style movie where they have real actors playing it but have it filmed like Avatar with the area being like Pandora coming to life. I think that would work for this kind of movie.
