When asked at the premier for The Lovely Bones about the Hobbit movie. "We were due to deliver the scripts and be shooting sometime around April and now I think I said in an interview we were shooting in June. And somehow people are now saying the film is delayed. As far as I am aware, they are not delayed at all. I am not even sure when we are going to start shooting… we are delivering the scripts just after Christmas they'll be finished and we'll be shooting as soon as we possibly can. But you need a certain amount of time to finish the pre-production."

Jackson was then asked if part one of the saga would still hit in December 2011, he said "At this stage, that is certainly the plan. Yeah."

LEEE777-- I was thumbing through the .50 bin at my local comic shop and guess what I came across? Elementals issues 1-3. I picked 'em up and I have to say, not bad! If I'd have read this way back in '84 I'd a thought it was the coolest shit ever. They kill and get killed. The artist reminds me of a cool mixture of Alan Davis and Mcfarlane. On a side note the print job is spectacular. I didn't think they printed comics that well back then.

Yo Darth, Idk if you saw it on another post but I did that Darth Maul/Mulder mash up. It works ok. I don't think it'll work well as an avatar, too small to tell it's Mulder. Here it is.

Darth Maulder, haha

@ keven

or sam worthington or jensen ackles...since that seems to be the only 3 actors that ever get recognized or mentioned by anyone. OH! and it should be directed by zack snyder...LAME!
StephenStrange
StephenStrange - 12/7/2009, 11:34 AM
@ corndogburgler: seriously stale discussions aren't they? I am getting to the point that I can skillfully skip over all the Ackles/Worthington B.S.

Well clearly for the Hobbit they're going to use a time machine & go back & find a younger Ian Holm. It's the only real way. :)

i reitirate, will never happen
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 12/7/2009, 12:21 PM
superdog: It will more than likely happen, theres too much money to be made with anything connected to LOTR. The Hobbits a classic, fans will shell out the dough and the studio knows it.

supermarioworldE - 12/7/2009, 12:32 PM
What fan wouldn't go see the hobbit? I've got a lot of faith in this movie (s). Hopefully they'll come through. It's such a good story, and IMO, better than the lotr books. This film has been 70 years in the making, and I know it wont suck

I really hope this hits on time. I don't wanna wait another 3 years for this.

Lord Mulder

Does this make Betty the Emperor? HAHAHhhahah! You could do worse ;)

Betty, my man, I'd love to make you an action figure... but it couldn't touch your avatar so I dare not try.

Hawksblueyes - 12/7/2009, 12:48 PM
Hobbits, dwarves, elves, dragons, men and oh yeah, a wizard, sounds interesting to me.

Oh yeah, wolves, and trolls, and bears and a magical shape changing man bear.

@ Hawksblueyes: No shit mang they better not leave out Beorn like they did fricking Tom Bombadil and The River Daughter!

Yeah, Beorn made the book for me.
superdog
superdog - 12/7/2009, 1:15 PM
as you said, 70 years in the making and still not made. if it was such a big money maker they would have put it on the fast trak. but here we sit. ill believe it when i see it.
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 12/7/2009, 1:16 PM
I would imagine the Hobbit will be closer to the book because there are not as many characters that need center stage time.
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 12/7/2009, 1:17 PM

thwhtGuardian
thwhtGuardian - 12/7/2009, 2:36 PM
The Lord of the Rings was a money making machine, and the Hobbit will be nothing less, this movie will be made, no doubt about it. It already has a built in world wide audience that is stronger than any other franchise out there, what's not to like from a production stand point?
On top of that you have the probability of even larger profit margins because Del Torro does his movies on the cheap with beautiful results.
StephenStrange
StephenStrange - 12/7/2009, 2:38 PM
JRR Tolkien ftw
thwhtGuardian
thwhtGuardian - 12/7/2009, 2:44 PM
ftw indeed. Like Jackson said there's no delay everything seems to be going as they want it to. A tolkien movie is never late, nor is it ever early. It arrives precisely when it means to.
