I may be a day late and a dollar short on this one but I'm pretty diligent in keeping up to date on my CMB news and haven't seen this one yet. I know there was discussion about the music used in the movie trailers and whether we could expect Perseus to put on his I-Pod and jam out to the Used while he flies around on Pegasus or if we can expect the more appropriate, Hans Zimmer-esque epic movie score.
News to me is the rumor that Leterrier had his sights on one of my favorites, Muse, to contribute music. As it turns out that was about 1/3 right. Leterrier had tapped lead man Matt Bellamy to contribute about a half hour of music for the movie which would go along with a fully epic score created by the man behind the Incredible Hulk score, Crag Armstrong. Unfortunately for me and anyone else who could possibly have been excited to watch Perseus wail on Medusa while listening to a little Stockholm Syndrome, Bellamy had to decline due to scheduling conflicts and thus... the soundtrack suffered a Massive Attack.
Leterrier: "Craig Armstrong, who did my ['Incredible Hulk'] score-- Craig, he was going to write the score and Matt Bellamy was going to come in and do... maybe 30 minutes of music." and now..? "Craig Armstrong is still doing the score and I called my friend Neil Davidge from Massive Attack to replace Matt for the areas that Matt was doing. So it'll be Craig Armstrong and Massive Attack, which is pretty exciting."
And on a side note coming from the same article (in case there was any question), Leterrier clarifies in the same interview that, while Worthington's success in the 3D Avatar movie led to a lot of speculation about whether they'd try 3D with Titans, the answer is a big... fat... NO!
Thank you and I hope you enjoyed the time we spent together as much as I did.
