Commencing only last week, principal photography for the Nicolas Cage-starrer Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is well underway in various areas of Romania. And according to the Cancan Online, scenes are soon to be filmed consisting of an army of mercenaries confronting our Brimstone biker, Johnny Blaze.

Alexander Mantescu, a Romanian guard whose acting as one of the mercs tasked to kill 'Ghost Rider' at all cost, will be confronting Blaze, Nicolas Cage, directly; Anticipating working alongside Cage, Alexander says...

[Google Translate] "It's an opportunity to play alongside American actor Nicolas Cage. I got the role of a mercenary, and soon I am going to try it suits the film," said the young Alexander Mantescu. He is 21 years old and practiced boxing in the last 12. "The owner has told us that there is a chance so we then round income, and to move on."

"Maybe with any luck I'll be able to get into the world of film actors," says gorjean, full of optimism. At this point, the crew was from Sibiu, where he shoots a few sequences. As decor, the makers have chosen piatetele of downtown."

Anyhow, the sequel's story follows Johnny Blaze, as hes hiding out in remote Eastern Europe and struggling to repress his curse. Blaze is then recruited by a sect to take on the devil, who wants to take over his mortal son’s body on the boy’s birthday. And the film is scheduled for 3D release February 17, 2012

fony have made one cool film spider-man 2,spider-man was alright but could of been better.

i never forgive them for spider-man 3 & ghost rider.

i'm hoping the spidey reboot will be awesome, but i have my doubts because it looks like its heading down the "ultimate" route.

as for ghost rider 2 with budget cuts $135 million - $75 million it doesn't sound good at all.

What the hell did he say? How could anyone decipher what he said other then he's going to be in the movie, and he wants to be an actor.(?)

@deadpool72: The only things the Spidey reboot looks to be having in commomn with Ultimate Spider-Man is the modern backdrop, the grittier tone and his Aunt and Uncle.

Especially since Gwen is going to be the first love in this film when, Mary Jane was the first love in Ultimates.

As well as the fact that Lizard is the villain in this when Green Goblin was the first villain in Ultimates.

So it's likely going to be a mix of different iterations/interpretations of Spider-Man and not a direct play-by-play of either of them.

So is the movie going to be taking place in Romania, or at least Eastern Europe? Or are the directors going to try and convince the audience that the movie takes place in America?
sweetre15
sweetre15 - 11/8/2010, 3:25 PM
@SantoAnderson: It'll take place in Romania and be set 8 years after the first film. He'll be in exile trying to repress his curse.

@ sweetre15

spider-man reboot, elemets from both universes would be awesome.

but there is things in the ultimate universe that i hate like for example green "hulk" goblin & gwen "carnage" stacy.

some of the other characters have costume changes that i don't like either.

Far from being my most anticipated movie of 2012, but I'll give it a chance. Can't be worse than the shit we put up with from Fox anyway. Here's hoping Sony dont [frick] up either this (and far more importantly) Spider-Man!

I didn't think the first one was COMPLETE crap so I'll give this one a go.
This is one of the few comic book characters where going "darker" is a good thing

@deadpool72: I agree on USM's treatment of Carnage and the whole Gwen Stacy fiasco but "Hulk" Goblin wouldn't have been so bad if they kept him as psychotic and able to talk like he was in Volumes 1 and 4. I did like their treatment of Norman Osborne himself a lot though. But even people who don't read comics avidly but get concepts of the Universes should know the Do's and DONT's of USM and 616. lol

Sony was behind the Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon and it avoided the bad elements of USM pretty well even though their treatment of Mufasa, I mean Kraven The Hunter was quite stupid lol.

they should really reboot the franchise because they all ready screwed up the first and plus...nic cage is going to play the villain as well...ITS LIKE FACE OFF ALL OVER AGAIN! in my opinion..an actor should try to stay away from movies that require them to play the hero and the bad guy more than twice in their movie career!! lols
