Bloodydisgusting.com is reporting that actor Nicolas Cage will be returning to reprise his role in Ghost Rider 2. In the first installment Nicolas Cage played a stunt rider that sold his sole to Mephistopheles in order to save his dying father. Years go by seeing Johnny become a famous motorcycle stuntman and getting interviewed by his long lost girlfriend Roxanne Simpson(Eva Mendas) reuniting the two. Mephistopheles then rears his ugly head offering Johnny Blaze the opportunity to defeat his son Blackheart, and by doing so Johnny would earn his soul back. Ghost Rider showed us what happens to a mortal soul that sells his most precious possession to the Devil, only to betray and fight for that soul back.

What can we expect from a sequel? Hopefully we see a kick ass ruthless version of Ghost Rider. Let’s stay true to the comics and show audiences that Ghost Rider is a Hell Demon. That’s the whole point of the movie.

Ghost Rider 1 was an ok film. The special effects were awesome but the actors failed to connect to the broader audience. The sequels success depends on if Columbia hires a decent Director to fix this problem and if the script has any quality attached to it at all. Hopefully Marvel will be allowed to have a positive influence on this upcoming film. If Columbia chooses to ignore the problems that hindered the first Ghost Rider film then unfortunately Ghost Rider 2 will become just another B movie sequel.
