G.I Joe 2 Adds A Character Named "Cross"

G.I Joe 2 Adds A Character Named "Cross"

A casting call for the sequel to the God awful G.I Joe: Rise Of Cobra has gone out. And it seems we will be getting a new character to replace the many that are not returning!..

Let's face it, nobody has much faith in the still untitled G.I Joe sequel. The first one was bad enough, but with a new director in John Chu and many of the original cast and characters not returning I think even the handful of fans that enjoyed the first one must be facepalming.

But, lets focus on the positives if we can. The movie appears to be getting a few new characters at least. And one of them is a dude named "Cross"..

‘Cross‘, described to agents as being ‘Male; 25-35 years old; any ethnicity; a soldier.’

Now I'm not too familiar with the Joe cartoons and comics etc but Clint over at Moviehole (who have the exclusive) reckons this must be Cross-Country, a popular character introduced back in 1986. I'm sure you Joe fans know the guy, would he make a good addition to the sequel's roster?

The first movie was great till it got to the last 30-45 minutes. The Baroness should have stayed bad, and storm shadow should have not died.

@CaptainDC Yes this article is biased, but can you blame him? Hell, if I wrote this article, I would've started it with:

"Hey guys and gals. Guess what? More G.I. Joe 2 news. But I know that none of you really give a shit. The last one was a cinematic catastrophe of astronomical proportions. So theres a new character, and there will be a bad actor playing him, and blah blah blah, Channing Tatum sucks, the end."

CBM, please don't let Rormachine cover any GI Joe news. Get somebody neutral to cover it.

Yeah, that'l happen. Face it, the movie stunk to high heaven. If you liked it , that doesn't mean it was good, it means you like a bad movie.

@Ror, I have my preferences, but don't judge. What kind of movies do you like anyway?

This sequel is gonna be the final nail in the coffin for the G.I. Joe film series. Which is a shame because I did enjoy the first movie, though it was little more than a live action cartoon.

Who knows, maybe in the future we'll actually get a great G.I. Joe movie.

i actually never really hear anyone on here give a movie a good rating. your going to have to realize the only perfect movie is going to be the one in your head. there is no movie that can compare to the human imagination because movie productions are limited by money, resources and reality.

No offense Ror, but don't attach your opinion to the subject line (that you can read on the front page under the topic name), it's biased and "unprofessional". News should be neutral like skullboy said. I thought you knew better dude. Tsk Tsk.

I'm no apologist for the first movie, it wasn't perfect but overall as a G.I. Joe fan I really enjoyed it and look forward to a sequel.

I have to agree with others, very biased way to report some news. Guess you have to take it with a grain of salt when he states "Now I'm not too familiar with the Joe cartoons and comics etc" and ends it with "I'm sure you Joe fans know the guy, would he make a good addition to the sequel's roster?"

lol, look around guys. MANY sites give their own opinions on news. It makes it a bit better and more interesting that just a couple of lines stating the details. Maybe to you that's "unprofessional", but then so is AICN, Screenrant. First Showing, /Film etc etc

I actually submitted myself for this role.....hope stand out amongst the 100,000 others that did haha.

Also layoff Ror, he didn't like the movie, he's allowed to say so. I didn't like GH so I felt the urge to say it early and often.

THIS IS COOL...

"WINNING"...

WTF BEYOND RETARDED...

YOU COULD HAVE SAVED YOUR MONEY ON THIS PEICE OF CRAP..ITS COBRA COMMANDER NOT OCTOPUS SCUBA DIVER VADER WANNABEE MAN.

If the sequel gets Cobra right and has better Joe costumes it could work. I hope they have a good variety of characters.

I love how Ror hates on GI Joe for sucking and then interviews the Thor from Asylum's film. That's gonna be good!

I was really disappointed with GI Joe. It wasn't even on Transformers movie, which was watchable. I do still hope they can do something with this. They really need to hire a new costume department and get some decent script writers.

I'm glad that Ror is here to tell us that, objectively, a particular movie is bad. Clearly, whether a movie is good or bad is an objective fact, and not a subjective opinion. Furthermore, I'm glad that Ror is the arbiter of that objective fact; it saves others, including myself, from forming opinions of one's own.

Sarcasm aside, why does anyone bother arguing about opinions of this nature? Whether a movie is good or bad is subjective, and people will form their own opinion. As they should. And no one is going to change anyone else's opinion, so an argument is pointless.
