Wayans NOT Goofin' Around with G.I. Joe!

Marlon Wayans, who plays Ripcord in the new live action G.I. Joe flick, takes the movie seriously! No goof!

Marlon officially states, "The movie is serious, action and some comedy - but not all comedy,"

Many fans had fear that due to Marlon Wayans involvement, the flick will just end up being a massive joke-fest, but Marlon has given his word that the movie will not be goofy, and if anyone knows goofy, it's a "Scary Movie" alumni.

Marlon goes on to say, "It is G.I. Joe. It's supposed to be badass action. So you commit to it - and I found the fun in being a badass, for once in my life." He also says that his character is no "joke" either, as a regular part of Ripcord's repertoire was jumping out of helicopters.

Marlon advised the films director, "Stephen Sommers, I will say to you: Please, next time, stuntman. A black dude who looks like me? He jumps out of the plane, not the actor. Shoot him, not me. Let’s make sure we bring a black dude to Prague next time."

Why don't he man up and do the stunts himself next time. Lots of actors do their own stunts.

"If an actor tells you he does his own stunts, he's a liar, or selfish, or both."
-Quote from Michael Caine

I have to agree with him. Let the stuntmen/women work!

@KeepItReal: He's a comedian... well "comedian" lol depending on if you think he's funny or not. They aren't used to doing stuff like that. But yeah he does need to keep doing it. You can get such better shots if the actual actors do the stunts. But I picked up something else from that quote... Does this mean we are getting a G.I. Joe II? lol well duh but this kinda almost confirms it... and also we may already know where it is shooting too. lol just what i thought about. I haven't read any prior news that there will be a sequel so this is news to me.

I agree. It's cool for an actor to do his own stunts if he's someone like Jet Li or Jacki Chan who made a living doing stuff like that before acting...but other actors...that's not that great.

Little stunts are good, something where the camera can pan in on their face w/o digital replacement...other than that. I say let the stunt men work.

"I do some of my own stunts every now and then...But I let the stuntman do his job. That's what he gets paid to do. I wouldn't want him coming in and acting in my place, taking money out of my paycheck, so I pay him that same respect." -Alfred Molina on the set of Spider-Man 2
