"Of course...I would like them to have a shared universe...We are trying to put them on a level where if Warner Brothers and DC Comics decided they wanted to them to be a part of the movie, people would buy it"

"I think that the characters we are creating in our universe can stand next to Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot."

Arrow returns from mid-season hiatus on January 15th.

"After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the Pacific. When he returns home to Starling City, his devoted mother Moira, much-beloved sister Thea, and best friend Tommy welcome him home, but they sense Oliver has been changed by his ordeal on the island. While Oliver hides the truth about the man he’s become, he desperately wants to make amends for the actions he took as the boy he was. Most particularly, he seeks reconciliation with his former girlfriend, Laurel Lance. As Oliver reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be – flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle – while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness. However, Laurel’s father, Detective Quentin Lance, is determined to arrest the vigilante operating in his city. Meanwhile, Oliver’s own mother, Moira, knows much more about the deadly shipwreck than she has let on – and is more ruthless than he could ever imagine."

The TV show(s) should start a DCTV Universe....just like Bruce Timm did with the animated universe.

Amell as G.A and Bennett as Deathstroke in an established DCCU would be an awesome fit, they could expand on the characters in the films even more while still doing the same on the show, allowing us to see what they may be up to when its not being shown on Arrow.

@Brainiac3000

not a bad idea either, and if they want it to make sense connecting DCTV shows, they need to bring in Bruce Timm

I am pretty sure that the shoe Gotham is DC's way of exploring both Jim and Bruce's past sans a movie.

I mean it's a different avenue hence they wont need a movie to establish Ben Affleck.

If Cranston is Gordon then he can stand toe to toe against those other big screen actors.

There's really no reason they should keep them separate.

Merry Christmas every one :)

the only reason they're apprehensive is because of the flash. otherwise, what are they gonna do? cast another green arrow? for what? a character like him is best suited for tv. i like gustin, and wouldn't mind him if he was the flash in the dccu, i think they'd rather have a bigger star in that role though. of course, this wouldn't be an issue if they stopped pussy footing with the flash and put out a film some time ago.

No no no, please don't force a connection to a cheap CW show...PLEASE

Have a film universe and a TV universe and that will be fine. To go from the lower scale and budgets of the TV world and cross into the mega-blockbusters of the film world, and to somehow try to make that feel consistent stylistically....it would just be a nightmare and impossible to do.

Marvel has a hard enough job selling Agents of SHIELD as being part of the MCU...and AOS is playing with quite a bit more money than Arrow is.

That's becausle AOS sucks. Arrow is one of the best damn shows on television right now. Hell you dont even have to care about comics to love this show.

I had a friend who watched most of first season, fell in love with it, and didnt even realize the show was about Green Arrow. He thought it was a modern retelling of Robin Hood. He's not much of a comicbook fan so I dont blame him but if the show can reach to far greater audiences then the show has done its job.

I feel like AOS is trying to hard to tie into the Marvel films. They should let the show be its own separate entity to let it flourish on its own.

Maybe in a urinal. Then again, superheroes don't use the bathroom so No Chance.

"All the best super-hero movies are made by the villain. That's what elevate the material[...]"

-Stephen [frick]ing Amell

Couldn't agree more.

And that's also why I think The Moralists are overrated as [frick]. Cuz you don't care about the heroes, you don't fell like they could be hurt.

That took away all the fun of the movie for me.

Brainiac13 - 12/25/2013, 1:58 PM

@BANE5000

It would make sense to expand different characters in a universe separate from the Movies.

@Firg

I'm sure they will connect the Gotham show like they will connect the new Flash series.

How you doing brother...Long time...where u been?

If I had to guess, WB/DC doesn't have a definitive answer yet.

If Gustin ends up being awesome and the best choice for the role on film
, then perhaps they'll announce the connectivity later.

If Gustin isn't up to par, then they'll announce the separate universes as late as possible to avoid putting people off the show who only want to watch the connected universe.

It would be unwise to prematurely announce the connectivity to a CW show and potentially sacrifice the quality of a Flash film franchise.

Considering I don't think Cavill and Affleck are that "great" of actors and Gadot is completely unproven, I don't see where the challenge is with Amell and Gustin being part of the DCU. If the bandwagon is saying Gadot is going to be great as WW, then there is absolutely no reason Amell and Gustin (who have a lot more acting experience than Gadot) can't deliver as well. Somewhat of a double standard perhaps? I have no challenge with Gustin's age and I was pleasantly surprised that he looks in his mid-twenties on the show and not 16 like some want to suggest.
Neek2086
Neek2086 - 12/25/2013, 2:14 PM
Noooo.. Just stay on TV.. Then that would mean that gustin guy is the flash.. They can find a better person for the flash.
