This does look a serious film, abit like the original Burton movies maybe, maybe a bit of tongue in cheek, but i reckon this could become something great!

Lookin good! ; )

The idea of Seth doing this movie is so strange to me that it could end up being pretty good. The pics are very cool. Everyone check out my Avengers fancast and let me know what you think.

Seth is Trying to pull off that Iron Man Vibe.

Stark was a little bit more serious then he's being portrayed by Downey Jr. but it still worked cus Robert still has the Smooth, Cool Vibe about him even though he's funny.

Seth is trying to capture the same essence of that movie except, he isn't a Suave, Handsome guy. (not calling him bad looking) (Not trying to sound fruity either...LOL)

Im just saying he isn't fitting the mold for the Green Hornet's character.

Its still Early I wont call it Trash or anything yet...Im just realing my displeasure for Seth being the Green Hornet.

However...The Story, and Action would have to be Incredibly GOOD for this to work with Seth as the Green Hornet.

AND I MEAN REALLY REALLY GOOD!

No, no... Seth does look like shit. Whether he's fat or thin, he really looks like shit. And it's okay, you can admit how bad these pics are. The movie could still be good but these pics are not in any way as good as the Ironman2 pics or The Last Air Bender. I really want to see some footage to really find out what the pics aren't showing. Kato looks like shit on a stick as well. He looks like they just picked a random guy from the slums of Bangkok. At least Bruce Lee looked classy and clean. I really don't know how they ended up with that guy... i guess even Sammo "The Fat" Hung also turned them down.

I don't understand how anyone could have an opinion on this film. We haven't seen anything about it except these pictures. WE don't know the tone, the story or if Seth Rogen is taking this roll seriously or comedic. How can anyone base an opinion on such little to go on. At least wait until you see the trailer.

@Cook, thank you for making sense :) There hasnt been any trailers or anything and people are already complaining. Just give it a chance people. Or atleast wait to hear what the critics have to say.

Its a guarantee that none of you who are talking bad about this movie could do a better job yourselves....cause if you could you wouldn't be typing your two cents and posting them, you'd be out there making movies as bad as Uwe Boell...wait for the trailer to at least come out for crying out loud...i bash movies too...but not til i see the final product...i don't judge a movie the way most of you are...even if there are actors or actresses or directors that i don't like are attached to a project. I don't care if you hate on a movie...but wait til it comes out...i know most of you...including myself could not do a better job at most of these movies even if we tried because the movie industry is harder than you or i can fathom.

Torch@ your right. No one should ever be allowed to give an opininion on anything unless they can do it themselves. We can never read a book, watch a movie, sports, plays, t.v. Shows or comics cause we can never decide whether we like them or not unless we can do them oursleves. And unless we are willing to quite our professions leave our families and move to hollywoood and attempt to do it ourselves, we should never ever do anything again. Brilliant analysis you made there.

Yeah what Superdog said. I mean I try not to be too harsh a critic myself, because I am aware that I couldn't probably do half the stuff these guys are doing half as good - nevertheless, opinions are good. Opinions are the root of democracy, and when the masses are heard (usually) reason comes into focus. Especially in a place like this, where you have alot of very passionate, knowledgable fans who know the root material, the continuity, the themes, the tones, etc. better than most of the people making the actual movies.

If it were up to me, I'd pick a handful of you guys on this board to make these movies. Plus, when you put yourself out there to be THE STAR, THE MAN, THE SHIT!!!, you take that risk, and you'd better be prepared to deal with criticism.

I'm out on this one, it could go either way. I agree he doesn't have the necessary "suave" and elegant aesthetic, but he's relatively competent and if he tried real hard on this who knows. This is a bit of a test for him. Diaz is, unfortunately, looking more and more haggard.

And yeah Guttenberg went from A list for a few years to like D list, but I think he may have just been fed up with Hollywood, as happens to some people - they just get tired of it, and leave.

I thought this was going to be a serious Superhero movie, not a Comedy. I'm not sure about this project any more.
BruceWayne1
BruceWayne1 - 9/7/2009, 12:04 AM
Comedians also have the ability to be serious because most of there comedy comes from a time in their life that wasn't happy at all so I believe that he will take that which is in him do his best. So I am behind it all the way
Imran
Imran - 9/7/2009, 7:57 AM
All Superhero films don't need to be serious.. If you read comic books you'll know that there are a lot of funny/light-hearted ones as well as violent/serious
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 9/7/2009, 9:43 AM
Imran----you are absolutly correct but, The Green Hornet needs to be done just a little more serious than The Tick or Spaceghost would be. Although the old Adam goofy ass West Batman had a team up show with the old Green Hornet and Cato. So what do I know?
NubaX
NubaX - 9/7/2009, 9:45 AM
@Cook @ Cap and @ DDD

I DON'T CARE!!!!!!

Whether its to be Serious or More Comedic....SHAMAN IS RIGHT..( Though I won't be mean and call them Shit...LOL)

But Still HE'S RIGHT!

I'll wait till its Final and we see a Trailer but still...Im Sure Kato will look Much better then he does in this picture... Hopefully

But Seth as the Green Hornet is Really just WRONG and the ONLY way you CAN go with Seth playing the Green Hornet is Comedic...

Let me say it again...

with Seth playing the Role of the Green Hornet....

THE MOVIE HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO BE MORE OF A COMEDY!!!

Sorry but NO... Im really not feeling him....

Like I said...It had BETTER be a HECK of a Storyline and some INCREDIBLE Action for this movie to make it.

Im just being Honest.

There's a Difference from prejudging a movie and looking at the Actors protraying the Movie ahead of time knowing that they are making a Drastic Change to its Origin because the Choosen actor for the Lead Role can ONLY portray him as One type of character.

You feel me?

@ Justin

Yeah... some Comedians are Excellent actors and can play the serious roles, Heck...so can Singers like Tyresse.
There are Serious Actors that can play Comedic Roles and have us all Busting into tears with Laughter...

But Not ALL of them...

You also have to LOOK the part too you know.

@ Hawksblueeyes...
Its funny that you should mention THE TICK cus I was just thinking that Seth would be Perfect in a TICK Movie...

But as ARTHUR!

Arthur from the Tick Pictures, Images and Photos

It just seems to me as if Seth is just Living out a Childhood Fantasy and yet he's Distorting the Essence of what The Green Hornet was.

48and2 - 9/7/2009, 3:16 PM
I expect the reason why the studio is bankrolling him on this is because, well he is a pretty big commercial success, but mostly because of Pineapple Express - which I'd not doubt this Green Hornet movie ends up similar to, the same flavor of comedy/action. The studios were initially horrified at the prospect of that movie (Pineapple Express), but then it did pretty well. I thought it was OK, but would expect Green Hornet to be much better.

Why did everybody think the guy looked bad in the other photos of Kato in costume. It says right there that it's a stunt double not the actual actor playing Kato.
Shaman
Shaman - 9/8/2009, 7:40 AM
DDD- Now i know it was his stunt double but that title was misleading. I normally don't bother reading the article when the title states it's to show us a pic of someone or something. The title said "first look at Kato". Well surprise, it wasn't even Kato. Just a guy in a mask, paid to take a fall.
