I have to admit, I was one of the first people to say, "WTF?!?" when it was announced that goofball comedy star
Seth Rogen would be starring in the lead role in a live-action
The Green Hornet movie. So, I was not too surprised by a recent
IESB article that claimed the production was
in trouble:
"What we're hearing is the Sony executives are displeased with the results. The tone is too campy, they're not happy with the work from director Michel Gondry and Seth Rogen does not look the part. At all. In fact, the feeling at Sony is the movie is a disaster. That sucks to hear because frankly I'm a big fan of both Rogen and Gondry. I was really hoping they'd make something worthwhile."
However, the following day, Sony spokesman
Steve Elzer called the
IESB article "complete garbage." Apparently, the studio execs have only seen one-third of the movie, but what they've seen they like:
"What we have seen is outstanding. The piece is unfounded."
What do
you think, CBMers? Is Rogen out of his element as an action star or should we give him a shot?
