Even More On Green Lantern From Mark "Sinestro" Strong!

The actor describes the filming process of Green Lantern as, "trying to make a jigsaw puzzle with two thirds of the pieces missing" and also addresses fans concerns about the lack of new footage and images...

The first interview comes from LeicesterSquareTV, and although the majority of the interview is focused on his thoughts about Empire Award winning, Kick-Ass, he also talks about what it was like to work on a CGI heavy movie like Green Lantern.

"Yeah, a lot. There's Earthbound stuff and there's space stuff. And obviously the space stuff was all in a big green warehouse and we all wore grey tracksuits with dots on. It's like trying to make a jigsaw puzzle with two thirds of the pieces missing, so I can't wait to see it myself."

Many fans have been left annoyed and concerned about the lack of new pictures and footage from the movie (especially when compared to what we've seen of both Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor) and Mark Strong addressed these concerns when quizzed by HeyUGuys.

Are we going to see any photos soon?

They’ve released something, but it’s all going to be coming out in June. I think that stuff takes a while to get right, they don’t want to release it before it’s ready.

With an all star cast which includes Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, Blake Lively as Carol Ferris and Mark Strong as Sinestro, director Martin Campbell's Green Lantern is set to be released in 3D on June 17, later this year!

I think promotion for this movie is going to kick into overdrive on Thursday at CinemaCon and continue on Friday at Wondercon.

Green Lantern is about to make a big splash if you ask me - why else would they go to so much trouble at Wondercon?

The CGI in the recent Abin Sur pic looked heaps better than the teaser and I expect the same kind of shock and awe comparison across the whole film.

Buzzwords from people 'in the know' on various forums seem to indicate that we will be getting cool shots of big players/cool constructs in Trailer 2, which should be crowd pleasers if the CGI is up to scratch.

They certainly need to get a move on though.

@birchy6 - Well in all honesty, it is the only opportunity they have to really feature the film at an American comic book convention before the film Releases in June (the San Diego ComicCon, the biggest one of the year, is in July). In my opinion, this is the best way to start buzz for this type of film, since it was the same way Star Wars got it's start. From what I have been reading there might be some exclusive footage shown at the ShoWest convention (CineCon) this Thursday. What could be unfortunate would be that the footage never gets out to the public.

@Chester- That's what he meant. The movie comes out in June. The people didn't ask about marketing and promotion. They asked when they'd get pictures and he told them they'd get an entire movie of pictures in June.

I'm hoping Green Lantern delivers this summer, as it would be nice to get another CBM franchise going. Marvel is doing their part, and I'm a huge Marvel fan, but it's time for DC to step it up.

If Green Lantern does well, I hope the next CBM WB takes on is Flash, along with sequels to Superman and then of course the next installments of Batman post-Nolan.

Marvel has already stated they want to put out 2 movies a year, and if WB gets their DC characters going, we could be in for a treat to get 3 - 4 CBM's a year. And that's not a bad thing, IMO.

Of course, they have to be good, but you get the idea.
