Seeing as how most of the complaints about 'Green Lantern' were directed towards the CGI used in the first trailer, I decided to throw together a quick comparison of the trailer and the footage that was released earlier today.

The pictures on top are from the trailer, and the bottom images are from the new footage.

Actually The Suit Is A Different Shade of Green and has a little bit more detail and is just a bit more flowing with light.....I Love the part when Hal is saying the Oath and his eyes begin to change colors.

@xenix

why is it that you have to be told that he just got his ring in the first film so his costume is not going to be as great as the others? it's not really that hard to see. do you not understand the concept?

i am actually beginning to be amused by all of these haters with their pathetic trash talking. it is now just making you guys seem lame pathetic and annoying.

but you know what? it isn't about dc or marvel or gl or thor or cap or x men.

it's just that you are the pessimistic kind of people that get off on f***ing with people and bringing them down.

nobody likes that kind of person. that's why you guys act all tough on here and mess with us all the time because nobody else can stand you. everybody else leaves you behind and we are stuck with your lame asses.

but go ahead continue to make us have a better understanding of how lame you guys really are.

@Xenix There's a HUGE difference in Hal's CGI quality. Just look at the pics of him right after he kicks Hammond, it looks waaaaaay better now.

Reynold's GL scares me. I'm not expecting this to be very good.

I honestly don't see all that much improvement in the CGI, especially on Reynolds.

Seriously bigbgl get over it dude. Xenix is just telling the truth. Hal's CGI looks almost exactly the same and it is a damn shame that it hasn't change in the 6 months since its back lash. They only have 2 months so here is hoping that a complete version is way better.

I think the CGI looks actually pretty darn good. I agree that the CGI could still be improved, but it's not like they're completely done. I think those who are saying nothing have changed are dead wrong however. I can see where you would see that, but as an editor myself, I can see a lot of quality changes. This movie will be quite good I think, and this isn't just coming from a DC fan, but a comic book fan overall.

ok, i admit i'm a dc guy and a gl guy, but xenix's last comment made me think and i have a serious question for the cgi-bashers: what do you WANT hal's uniform to look like? you said it looks like clay but why shouldn't it? do you think they were TRYING to make it look like cloth or leather?

you may not personally LIKE it, but it's what they wanted. i feel like people are saying it looks fake because they think it's SUPPOSED to look like something made of fabric, but that was never the point. i think it's why people were putting down the whole cgi costume idea in the first place. but i think the whole reason for doing it was to use an "alien" texture that would be impossible to create practically, because even within the film it doesn't actually exist.

Im not a Marvel or DC guy I love both. Heard this was coming so my wife and I both who have been keeping track of all the upcoming movies watched it together and both took it off our to see lists. The lines all seem to fall flat the only scenes that are "awesome" are when Reynolds isnt in them. His voice is perfect but I cant see anyone than that asshole from "Waiting" putting his hand up to the lantern and doing what he does best, be a smart ass.

Visually the trailer... its non-impressive...Avatar the Last Airbenders effects look comparable to this trailer. And im not a hater! I want this to be so good and do so well for WB and the DC verse. Something other than Batman would be great. The scope and imagination present in this movie is great and what they attempted to do is truly epic I just dont think the general public will be able to relate to any of it than Reynolds and Blake Lively being a ticket draw. Its a damn shame too

guys the suit is not made of earthly materials. it is supposed to be alien in nature. it is not supposed to look like leather or spandex or they would have used leather or spandex. get over it and enjoy the film...

The 2nd picture from the top, the closeup on Abin Sur, kinda looks like an aging Kryten from Red Dwarf, or perhaps my screen needs a good cleaning.. :)

http://www.planetsmeg.com/siteimages/upload/kryten.jpg

Claycostume or not, I think it looks cool! It looks like this movie is gonna be great fun and a cool visual experience. (Even thoug, beeing from Sweden, if I had to chose one, Id go for Thor :P, but sense I do not have to chose only one, Im gonna see both and totally enjoy them + every other great movie this year.) And ,oh yeah, I hope the "beeing from Sweden"-part makes my bad spelling understandable.. :)

(How do I post a picture??? Cant find any links on how to...)

The CGI already looks good enough to me that I don't really care if it improves or not. Looking at the Thor trailer, you have to be blind to not realize the Frost giants are CGI, but I don't hear anyone complaining about them.

I realize bad CGI tends to take people out of the movie, but the better the movie is the less likely that is to happen. Source Code had some blatantly obvious CGI shots that called attention to themselves, but I still enjoyed the movie.

As for Hal's CG suit, I can't picture it looking any better. I don't know what people think it's SUPPOSED to look like. If the VFX crew wanted it to look like a rubber outfit or something, they just would've made one for RR. If it's bothering some people, it's because they want to be bothered by it.

i gotta say people are shot around here the cgi sucks it would be fine if everything in the movie wasent cgi. They couldent even give him a real mask thus it all looks like crap. For cgi its fine but at the end of the day its cgi, they dident have to go that route, thats what they choose the visuals will show. this will be the last cgi costume you will see in sometime

I love how you DC Fan boys just blinding ignore that horrible CGI quality of this film. You guys tell yourselves so much bullshit you believe it now.

@mainstream05Frost Giants are not CGI in Thor you sir are completely blind...

Hals suit can look how it want however the neck line and mask look fake because THEY LOOK FAKE! what is so [frick]ing hard to see about that. The lines near his neck and face where the CG begins should be smoother and the CG portion should look less noticeable. Hell there is better CG on the [frick]ing Wii console than this movie.

You die hard DC fans are silly.

There's no major difference. It's the color timing that's most noticable. Since the film is closer to being completed, they've worked on color timing for the finished scenes and that's all I can see is different. That's why the same shots look brighter with better contrast.

The Sinestro shot is the only one I can say is in fact different in the background.
