Tyrese Gibson 'Commits' To GREEN LANTERN Lobbying; Calls Out Fan-Favorite Contender Idris Elba
The Furious 7 star has returned to Instagram to share more impressive fan art of himself as the Green Lantern while also continuing to lobby for the role in the Justice League and new standalone movies.
Just a couple days ago, one piece of Green Lantern fan art had visualized Tyrese Gibson as the character's John Stewart persona, and it essentially revealed the singer-turned-actor's interest in portraying the DC superhero on the big-screen. Today, the Transformers star has posted not one or two, but six additional fan art pieces to his Instagram with captions that further express his interest in the Emerald Crusader's cinematic reboot at Warner Bros.; Gibson even called out his potential competition. "Loving this energy...., Idris [Elba] fall back I got this!" he said in one caption. In another, Tyrese wrongly recited the Green Lantern oath before later reassuring that "I am fully committed to suiting up for this adventure." Clearly, Gibson and some very talented artists are having fun with the potential casting, but who knows if lobbying on social media will actually land him the role in Justice League Part One on November 17, 2017, maybe Justice League Part Two on June 14, 2019, and in the standalone Green Lantern movie on June 19, 2020. What do you think?
