Actress Jenna Craig (The Final Destination, Year One) has confirmed on her website that she will portray 11-year old Carol Ferris in Martin Campbell's Green Lantern. Blake Lively landed the role of her adult counterpart several months ago.

The character of Carol Ferris is the only child of aerospace mogul Carl Ferris. When she was visiting her father's airfield as a child, she witnessed the death Hal Jordan's father. While Hal Jordan was always shown as loyal and loving to his father, Carol was a bratty braggart that felt superior because of her father's position.

Since this pivotal scene is kid-Ferris' introduction into the Green Lantern mythology, it's safe to assume that it will be included in the film.

Am I the only one who is getting worried that they have only casted blonds for Carol Ferris. I sure don't hope that is sign that they are changing her haircolour for the movies.
Well maybe I'm just getting upset for no reason, will just have to wait and see.

But even though this is an indicator that they are doing the very important scene, where Martin Jordan aka. Hal's father crashes to his death. I was really hoping they would include that sequence and I take this as confirmation so far :)

Blake Lively is ugly and she is a bad actress, they should have cast either Keri Russell, Eva Green or Diana Krueger.

Interesting. Looks like the origin story for the movie really will start at the begining. Maybe they'll include scenes of Hal's mother's resentment of him for wanting to be a pilot, and hopefully they'll include Hal's first flight with his dad, that really shows his growing interest in becoming a pilot

Nahhh, still can't see LIVE BLAKELY in the role!!!

She just better have jet black hair, coz if she's blonde she will SUCK as the character!

That lil kid is blonde (ish) too, damn that don't look good for CAROL (STAR SAPPHIRE) FERRIS!

@LEEEEEE,Lively looks too young to be playing Carol...She would look odd with black hair...

Carol Ferris does need to have black hair. I think Lively is going to look odd in black hair as well. I can't find one photo of her with black hair. There's a few with her as a red head and a few as a dirty blonde...pushing brunette. It appears no one has felt comfortable with her in black hair until now and that worries me.

Good. That scene needs to be in the movie. Like NEEDS to be in the movie.

Hopefully Lively can rise to the occasion and give us a good performance. Fingers crossed that Campbell has got another Vesper on his (and our) hands.

@Tyler: Agreed the scene is essential for who Hal is as a person and the fact that this haunts him ever since is very important for building up his deepest fears, which he essentially will have to overcome.

And is it just me who think Blake Lively is really hot and cute and i mean really smoking hot and pretty cute...? Though I still have doubts regarding her acting and her haircolour...

So this must mean she is going to stay Blonde in the movie.

Come on ppl give Blake a break. Maybe this could be her best role, you never know. If Warner Bros and Martin Campbell cast her, it is most likely because of her great audition. Though the blonde thing has to change, gotta stay faithful to the comics.

Carol as a blonde now its messed up. Im not giving Blake a break because this role is too big for her, shes a bad actress, shes way too young for the role. This will be worse than Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane. Cmon we almost had another Gossip Girl star cast as a Super Hero. She looks nothing like Carol, they did this to please the Twilight/Gossip Girl age crowd

I think it should have been Evangaline Lilly. Good actress, was recently in THE BEST PICTURE HELLO, and on the most addicted show on TV. They just wrapped up the last episode of Lost, shed have been shooting GL right now.

see i hate when they have people that dont fit the part some blonde better dye her hair black. i really hated when they got jessica alba as sue storm they had to give her blonde hair and blue contacts and light her skin up seriously fine a natural blonde blue eye girl freaking morons

Like they could have found a brunette to be Carols, hence Evangaline Lilly, why does everyone I show the photo of her and Carol side by side think that was perfect and not with Lively

I think it might actually work for them if the keep Lively blond for the movie. Look, Blake supposedly looks better and hotter as a blond, and she is reeeeally smokin' hot! And then you have Transformers 3 coming out with Megan Fox as a [frick]ing most gorgeous young brunettte out there. So, if they cast Eva Green or Diana Kruger, they would in no way would be able to compete with Megan Fox, cause such kind of movies really rely on the hottness of the female lead. Plus, Lively and Fox the same age. One blond, one brunette. it's a perfect strategy! Think about it.

I mean, Transomers 3 and Green Lantern are schedule for nearly the same time, mid-summer 2011, so they have to be able to compete with them! :)

Blake's character is so strong and I love the fact that she's playing a part in it. I'm sure a lot of guys and girls would love to see her crucial role in the movies.
