We exclusively revealed a while back that Benicio del Toro would be playing Taneleer Tivan aka "The Collector" in Marvel's upcoming space-set adventure Guardians Of The Galaxy, and of course this was confirmed over the weekend at SDCC. MTV caught up with the actor and asked him about his experience joining the ever growing MCU family. Del Toro seems delighted to be a part of it, and says he plans to immerse himself in the source material as much as possible so he can learn all there is to know about his character.

"I just love to get invited, you know? I'm glad I'm invited to be a part of this film. I'm sure Djimon [Hounsou] feels the same way. We're very lucky to be a part of this.

I think that clip that I saw was different for me than the other Marvel films, I loved it."

I want to learn [about] the comics as much as I can. That world of Marvel, it's as thick as the Bible and 'War and Peace' put together. So I don't know if I have the time to get as deep as I would like to, but I'll go in there. It's exciting."
