Guardians of the Galaxy was a huge hit back in 2014 for Marvel Studios, and it put director James Gunn on the map in a big way. However, after admitting that including Thanos in the movie proved to be problematic for him, the filmmaker has now shared his "biggest regret."
During a recent live commentary on Twitter, Gunn explained why he wishes he hadn't cut one of Drax's (Dave Bautista) lines when the team first arrived on Knowhere.
"After Drax said 'Sounds like a place where I would like to visit' he added 'and kill many people there,'" Gunn wrote. "My biggest regret is not keeping this line in the movie."
Perhaps Drax threatening to come to Earth and kill a bunch of people was seen as just a little too dark for a PG-13 movie? Honestly, though, it probably would have generated a lot of laughs!
In the final version of Guardians of the Galaxy, Drax said the shortened version of the line and Quill agrees with him. Beyond that, not much more is said, but it's easy to see why that member of the team would want to visit a planet like Earth and go to war (he did, of course, finally get the chance in Avengers: Endgame).
