GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Opens In Japan; Poster And Creepy Rocket Animatronic Revealed

Guardians of the Galaxy has now opened in Japan, and as well as a box office update (hint: $600 million won't be the last benchmark it hits), we also have a Japanese poster and a creepy video of an animatronic Japanese Rocket Raccoon answering reporter's questions. Check it out!

This weekend, Guardians of the Galaxy opened in Japan with $2.1 million. That may not sound like a lot, but that number means that it had a higher opening than both Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Thor: The Dark World! After finishing in third place this weekend with $8 million in North America, the Marvel Studios movie now has a worldwide total of $612 million. Analysts believe that it will have no problem passing the $700 million mark following its opening in China next month, though whether it will beat The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ($708 million) and Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($714 million) remains to be seen. It's definitely possible!

Talking of Japan, a new poster - which reuses some familiar images - has been released along with a video of a bizarre animatronic Rocket answering questions. It's a creation which even director James Gunn admits "freaks me out". How much do you think the movie will earn in total?

Yucky flick...
This movie is a perfect example on how to hide an awful dialogue with forced comedy.

I'd say, since in China, Cap 2's gross was $60M higher than Thor 2, Guardians will finish its worldwide total with $800M, with a $175M intake in China for Guardians.

I still can't decide which is best CBM of the year between Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Maybe that's for the best.

I. Don't. Know.

I was waiting for there to be another Guardians related article so that I could bring up something I was pondering about in regards to the Infinity Stones (Gems). Not too long ago at one of the SDCC's a replica of Thanos's "Infinity Gauntlet" was n display for all of the guests to see...

Alright, now that we've gotten that out of the way, I know that everyone's been having numerous debates over which artifacts in the MCU are and are not considered Infinity Gems. I personally think/know that the...

Cosmic Cube
Aether
Orb
Loki's Scepter (my guess)

Are all infinity stones but when I think about that particular scene form GotG which featured a different color variety of the stones it had me scratching my head in regards to what actually would be considered Infinity Gems within this universe.

However I feel that the replica seen at comic con wasn't just for show and that it IS more true to the evidence we've already been given.

The Cosmic cube could be "white or blue"
The Aether is of course "red"
The Power Orb was obviously "purple"
and (my personal guess) Loki's Scepter was "white or blue"

It's kind of hard to tell when the stones are white or blue because they kind of give off a center based white color with a blue coating around, but then again there does seem to be "two blue" stones seen on the comic con replica so who knows...

@TheRationalNerd

I think it may be just a flaw on the prop. Or else, it brings up a continuity mistake with the differing colors.

That was really gross. Thanks for making me look at your poop. And I'm giving you credit by assuming that it is your poop, because while it's sad that you have taken a picture of your own poop, it would be waaaaaaay worse for a grown man to be taking time out of his day to surf the internet for pictures of poop. Put some effort into your insults and maybe folks will think you're clever. Plus, you won't vicariously subject us to pics of poop. Wow. I just typed "poop" a lot. Also I think I incorrectly used "vicariously". Whatever. Please just no more poop.
