Is Marvel Studios teasing a Planet Hulk movie in guardians of The Galaxy or is it just an easter Egg ?

Guardians of the Galaxy upcoming toy hint at a certain planet known to fans of the Planet Hulk storyline

By Destruktor2k - Feb 18, 2014 03:02 PM EST

During last week-end's Toyfair, many toys of our beloved franchises were showcased and previewed, including the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy.

One of these toys by Hasbro is a three figures pack that includes Rocket Raccoon, Groot and ....wait for it.... a Sakaaran Trooper (As in a trooper from the planet Skaar)

For those of you unaware of the excellent Greg Pak's Planet Hulk storyline, the green Goliath gets outcast to a planet called Sakaar, where he was imprisoned and forced to fight as a gladiator. It is in this planet where Hulk conceives his son Skaar.

Could this be a tease of things to come after Avengers 3? Or is it just an easter egg telling fans that the Sakaar Planet does exist in our universe?

Let us know in the comments section.

Doubt it.

The picture has been around for couple days. I am very very surprised no one noticed it.

But what does this mean for Korath the pursuer? His outfit is similar to the Sakaaran troop. Does this mean he is from there?

It probably means that Sakaar is under the Kree rule though.

Don't jump to conclusions is all that I will say. Directors tease things from the source material quite often.

I think it's more an easter egg acknowledging Sakaar.
But I never figured this out until now.

Am I the only one who thinks these soldiers are the hardly visible figures standing behind Star Lord in the screen grabs from the teaser?

I think they may have more than just a toy, but an actual part.

It's just them acknowledging that they're in the universe, more than likely plays a part in the story. I'll never want Planet Hulk and never want a World War Hulk. Simply because what makes Hulk so interesting is Bruce Banner. The Incredible Hulk is still a highly
under rated superhero film.

Interesting, very interesting

I really don't think there's gunna be a PH movie - at least not an accurate-to-the-book version anyways. He's Hulk for the entire story and I don't think Marvel would waste Mark Ruffalo or spend the insane amount of money/time needed to have a 100% Hulk movie. Plus it possibly knocks Hulk out for a couple of movies - either that or he makes it back to Earth by the end of PH, leading into a WWH movie? Would that be Avengers 4? A3 is obviously gunna be Thanos.

Dude there already is a Planet Hulk movie. I would watch it but there are so many other badass Hulk storylines open to them. That toy is probably just an easteregg and for the fact that that is a cool looking alien in the marvel universe. They have a cool government where the ant people are slaves to the spiky red dudes it's a cool planet in that universe.

This Could be a hint... eh maybe

What makes Bruce Banner interesting is the Hulk.

I'd love to see something like Plant Hulk on the big screen.

It's really worth noting that toys are the single least reliable indicator of stuff from the movies

Damn Marvel is so good with their easter eggs. They've really come a long way since 2008. Don't know why it is so hard for DC. They could've put a shit ton of easter eggs in Man of Steel.
FirstAvenger
FirstAvenger - 2/18/2014, 4:23 PM
Manhunter212, they did have a ton of Wayne/Luthor easter eggs.

Marvel simply have them in the movie to have them exist in the movie universe. They work for/with Korath (and most likely Ronan). You see them all throughout the trailer.

With Banner having control over his Hulk side, there is no purpose for a Planet Hulk movie (not the ones that y'all want). Plus Kevin already said no because PH has no Banner and Marvel wants to use Mark Ruffalo in the movies.

Just an easter egg. As good as the Hulk was in The Avengers it was Ruffalo's Banner that stole the show. A World War Hulk would lose that.

I wonder how many marvelfanboys are creaming their panties over that Easter egg?

Green go: Exactly. Can't have one without the other. That's what makes the character so interesting is self conflict and what happens when he let's the monster out. I didn't like Planet Hulk and World War Hulk, lack of Banner was one of the reasons.

Always thought Thanos (not Illuminati) would send Hulk into deep space.

This would also make way for New Avengers while Hulk is AWOL.

As amazing it would be too see a movie where Bruce Banner is the Hulk the entire time, Kevin Feige said he wants future Hulk movies to focus more on Bruce Banner.

Bruce Banner doesn't feature in the Planet Hulk storyline. Nice catch though! You get a thumbs up.
Desrow
Desrow - 2/18/2014, 5:55 PM
@mgeoff88, Pretty sure MS gonna take it licences exactly like The Mandarin in Iron Crap 3, so Bruce can easily be in Planet Hulk.

Could be just a tease or an easter egg. We cant know for sure if a Planet Hulk film will be included in Phase 3 or the upcoming Phase's.

mgeoff88 - 2/18/2014, 6:35 PM
@Desrow Ha ha, you're trying to make a point by bashing the very movie you're using as an example... That's an interesting way to go.

Personally, I would rather see more of a sequel to TIH, before we possibly get a Planet Hulk movie.

I want to see Hulk take on Abomination and The Leader in the next solo Hulk movie. After the build-up of Samuel Sterns being exposed to Hulk's DNA, I think it would be a mistake to skip over that in favor of a Planet Hulk movie IMHO. There's no point in laying the groundwork for something, if there is no pay off.

It's just a toy. It means nothing at all. Planet Hulk doesn't fit in the movies and even less WW Hulk.
It won't happen, accept it already.
