Marvel Studios Give Crew Members Of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL 2 An Absolutely Beautiful Poster

Last year's Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2, was something of a watershed moment among fans. Some felt that film and the ones that immediately followed, had an over-reliance on jokes and were bereft with bathos, that undermined it's emotion and stakes. Others were along for the ride and suitably affected by both the comedic and the cathartic.

Whether you're one of those people or not, even the films harshest of critics will concede that James Gunn directed sequel is a gorgeous film to look at.  So perhaps it's no surprise then, that the poster that Marvel Studios have gifted to the crew of the aforementioned film is also absolutely beautiful, as Andy Park a Concept Artist at the studio has revealed on Instagram.

One thing is for certain, working at Marvel Studio's has a far better quality of perks than my job does. Another take away from something like this, is it's hard not to be disappointed how their actual film posters, are never as gorgeous as works like this. But while they're not around as much as they used to, it's always nice to see good quality poster art still alive and kicking in one form or another.

What do you think? Would you like one of these on your wall? Were you a fan of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL2? What do you think of Marvel's poster art? Leave your thoughts below.

Oh, what an Ego they have on them.

I enjoyed the first Guardians, though I didn't see it as something special. But holy shit, something about GOTG Vol. 2 resonated with me on a multitude of levels and it ended up being possibly in my top 3 favourite films of all time. For some reason, I get very emotional watching this film and I can't really pinpoint the exact reason - not just the ending, but the entire film.

@AbidNaga - I have become a little addicted to rewatching the third act of the film, right from when Gamora arrives on Ego's planet and tries to kill Gamora. The emotions just start running so high, and the scene with Ego telling Peter his plan playing along side Mantis making Gamora feel her fear and Drax telling her what Mantis told me is one of my favourite moments in the MCU.

Not to talk of Rocket, who I loved in the first Guardians, started to hate him as Vol. 2 moves along by until he has THAT scene with Yondu. Now I just feel sorry for him.

The only character for me that felt ruined was Drax. It feels as though James Gunn forgot what made Drax funny was him speaking so formally and properly, and taking things too literally, and being really blunt. He didn't have to turn him into a guy that says his nipples are sensitive or has huge turds. The humour in Vol. 2 is just really cheap, like a lot of thought wasn't put into it. But the emotions really make up for it and deliver on such high levels. Saved the film a great ton if you ask me.

And Yondu's funeral is the first scene in the MCU to actually make me cry uncontrollably. Kraglin's reaction to seeing the Ravagers just gets me every time. And ending the movie with Rocket crying was such a ballsy move.

I feel like this movie was overly-comedic. I know the Guardians movies are action comedies, but the serious moments (like Ego's revelation) were undercut by humour. That's not to say I don't love this movie, but I still think the first is stronger.

@DaHyro - The first scene definitely has more of a better balance, but I don't think the second one's problem was that it had too many funny moments. Those moments just were not even funny. There's nothing funny about Drax's nipples and turds, or Groot walking around with Yondu's dirty underwear.

@DaHyro - Felt the same about Thor 3

I would love that signed and framed. As dor Gotg vol 2. Loved it. As much as the first. My preference. Mantis and Ego were great additions. Great character development and interaction.
