PICARD Showrunner Michael Chabon Wants To Work On An ADAM WARLOCK Movie For Marvel Studios

Picard has been well-received by Star Trek fans, and during a recent Instagram Q&A, showrunner Michael Chabon made it clear that he's waiting for Marvel Studios to get in touch about Adam Warlock...

Picard showrunner Michael Chabon is an accomplished writer and novelist, and he even won a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction back in 2001. With that in mind, it's perhaps not overly surprising that the Star Trek TV series has received such a positive response, but could he be planning a move to another universe?

During a recent Instagram Q&A, Chabon was asked which superheroes he connects with after once penning a draft of Spider-Man 2, and it turns out that he's a big fan of Adam Warlock!

"So many!" he responded. "Still holding out for that Warlock call from [Kevin Feige]."

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 set the stage for an appearance from Warlock somewhere down the line, but following comments from director James Gunn last year, there's been a lot of speculation that we won't actually see the anti-hero make any sort of appearance in Vol. 3

Believe it or not, Chabon first expressed his admiration for Warlock way back in 2012 when he talked about the character being a dream project for him. Given how well-received Picard has been, Marvel Studios would definitely be smart to bring Chabon into the fold for a solo outing featuring this cosmic character (a Disney+ series might not be the worst thing in the world either).

Time will tell on that front, especially as building a "Marvel Cosmic Universe" seems to be less of a priority for Marvel Studios at the moment. Do you guys think Chabon would be a good fit for an Adam Warlock movie or TV show of some sort?

Nah. I'd prefer everyone involved with Picard to stay far away from my favorite hero.

@MrCamw1 - It basically ignores Picard's character and experiences from Next Generation. I mostly blame Alex Kurtzman, but everyone involved appears to have never seen an episode of Star Trek in their life. On top of it all, what the writers have done to Star Fleet is unforgivable.

We cant have a show/movie for every single MCU character. It's just not possible. It's already a luxury to have so many d+ shows and movies as it is. There is no other franchise that dedicates so much screentime for supporting characters as the MCU.

Let's not be greedy.

I seem to be one of the few people who don't dislike the Picard show, and I loved TNG. It's probably not what I would've done with the character or the universe, but I don't feel it's so complete a deviation from what came before as many seem to think.

But maybe it's just because I'm still bitter about the sequel trilogy and think they've been way kinder to the character of Jean-Luc Picard and the Star Trek legacy than those ******** have been to Luke Skywalker and Star Wars.
