Last week, it was reported that director Guillermo del Toro - director of Hellboy and its sequel, The Golden Army - was backing out of the possible third installment. Now, in an interview with Coming Soon, he more or less debunks those rumors, saying he'd like to direct the film but it's not on his schedule now. He also says that his upcoming adaptation of Frankenstein, which is still stuck in development hell, will be 'so unique'.

On how his schedule is keeping him from Hellboy 3....
By the time I get to it and by the time we got Ron [Perlman] back, he'll be a HellMAN and in a wheelchair.

On his adaptation of Frankenstein...
My take is so unique, it will set it apart.
