CATS: The Trailer For Tom Hooper's Musical Adaptation Is The Scariest Thing You'll see Today

Think that trailer for It: Chapter Two was as scary as things were going to get on CBM today? Think again! The trailer for Universal's Cats adaptation is now online, and it's straight nightmare fuel...

Musical fantasy doesn't quite fall into the parameters of the type of stuff we usually cover on CBM, but there's been such a hullabaloo online since the first trailer for Cats debuted earlier tonight that we had to share it here and see what you guys thought.

Tom Hooper's adaptation of the classic West End musical uses state-of-the-art effects (apparently) to transform the likes of Judi Dench, Jason Derulo, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson, Ian McKellen, Taylor Swift and Rebel Wilson into humanoid felines, and the results are... well, have a look for yourselves.

To be fair, some of the characters don't look too bad (as long as you're okay with the overall design), but there are a few shots that call to mind that Basement Jaxx music video for "Where's Your Head At" with the human faces superimposed onto baboons.

We'd add a synopsis, but nobody seems to have a bloody clue what Cats is about!

What do you guys think? First in line this December? Drop us a comment below and check out a batch of official stills (if you dare) courtesy of EW.
