the 2 sequels were some of the worst zombie movies i have EVER seen. and yet i am stil going to see this one

actually, you should tell your friend that they do kind of follow the games. the original RE game started with the STARS team investigating attacks in the woods in the mountains. they were then attacked by zombie dogs. the first movie is the explanation of how the zombies got out and into the mountains. so the first movie takes place just before the beginning of the first game.

in the RE2 game, you play leon, who arrives in Raccoon city after it has been totally infested, most of that game takes place in the police station, which has been totally overrun by zombies. in the 2nd movie, the outbreak is just starting to get heavy, and the police station is still operating. which means that leon hasn't gotten there yet. so the second movie takes place just before the events of the 2nd game, and then kind of overlap halfway through, but its not following leon, its following alice. both the 2nd game and movie end with raccoon city being destroyed.

the 3rd movie is way in the future since most of the world is overrun, and even the new games coming out now aren't that far down the line. so the 3rd movie doesn't follow anything, since it takes place way after any of the games.

i like to think of the movies following the timeline, but different characters.

the second one was awesome, some of it was filmed in my hometown of Brampton (just outside of toronto) so all the overturned burning buses in the streets were brampton transit buses, they didn't bother changing the paint jobs or anything.

I was hoping for a reboot or spin off with Leon but alas. My first introduction to the franchise was RE3 i love nemesis but the movies really screwed him up. Every single one of these has been a let down but I'll still watch.

I honestly hope that if they following the flow and what they ended with at the end of Resident Evil: Extinction with Wesker being quoted as saying "The projects will resume...under my close, personal supervision." (right before Alice appears in hologram form with the warning that she is coming for them and she is bringing the other cloned Alices' with her.)

The reason why that makes me stoked for Afterlife is if they stay somewhat parallel to the games (which is what the movies do. They parallel the game continuity, but at the same time they are in their own reality.)

If Wesker in this movie is any bit as good-if not better like he was played in Resident Evil 5...yeah truly think that he is gonna steal the show. He is gonna be the ultimate frickin bad ass.

And expect to see Wesker and Alice throw down I bet you.

Wesker in RE:5 was trying to be a god if I remember correctly. Make sense.

yeah, in the first game, toward the end, you find an underground science facility where they were doing experiments. thats where the outbreak/zombies started. in the game they never called it the hive, but thats the same place that alice and the military guys are in the first movie.

i just think its funny that so many people say these movies don't follow the games, but they actually do. just different characters in different points in the timeline. just goes to show that those people don't know RE lore.

i think it was supposed to imply that jill possibly died?? i hope not, as she's the second most important character in RE aside fith chris redfield. but she was with them at the end of the 2nd, and gone for the third. who knows though, the 3rd movie is was way in the future, so anything could have happened. and yeah, the actress that played her was hot, not a good actress, but hot.

Ya I agree with corndog wentworth would be a better choice for leon if any a big badass needs to play chris
