Last night's ep was amazing stuff. This show is consistently fresh. And Kevberg, that's what happens when you lose trust in the people around you. After Cas, I see why he did this.

I loved last night's Supernatural. I will admit however that I am SUPER pissed at Dean! I understand that a monster is a monster, but she had a kid... He'll come back to haunt Dean someday. Assuming Dean lives that long...

The problem with the ratings this season is all on the CW: They left the show on a Friday night (when people are out and have things to do after a long week) even after "Smallville" was done - a moved that's proving ineffective because "Nikita" is a weak sophomore lead-in that's still building a fanbase for itself and so there's not much of a turn-over of an audience for a veteran series like "Supernatural".

I like the new season, personally, but the CW needs to hire new marketing team because the one they've got is doing a horrible job as usual....

i thought it was good filler episode to get off the main story and get back to other aspects, dean killed that chick because every monster they ever let loose killed again. But that is what is so good about supernatural, these 2 guys never get a break.

Last nights episode was great. The thing that people seem to forget is that Sam has a blind spot for anyone who he sees as a freak. He related to Amy too much, he couldn't kill her because he feels she's like him and he's too ready to give monsters a chance to behave like humans because deep down, he worries about the day he'll stop behaving like a human. Dean HAD to kill her. Why? One word..RUBY. The last time Sam defended a monster and suggested that she was harmless, it was Ruby. And where did that get them? Sam ended up believing her over Dean, he ended up addicted to demon blood, Ruby used him and betrayed him, causing him to let Satan go which then lead to Sam having to jump into the pit, coming back with no soul and now..he's messed up in the head..ALL BECAUSE HE TRUSTED RUBY. If Dean had killed her in the first place, none of that would have happened. So there you go, there's the motivation behind Deans cold, seemingly heartless murder of Amy Pond. She could have been another Ruby for Sam. Why chance it? I can't wait to see next weeks episode. I am anxious to see Jo.

Is it just me or does everything seem to start with a series of murders?
Anyway, i'm trying to understand Deans decision but i still can't get past it, seems like his situation turned from bad to worse. It's gonna come back to bite him,maybe in this episode, since we're dealing with guilt and all. Looked like he felt a little guilt after killing her, so who knows.

Lets see how the season plays out Kev.

@Kev The show is not in trouble. Just because its ratings have dipped isn't really that big of a deal considering how much money they get from it with conventions, comics, and novels. Also, like has been said, Smallville is really the main driver of Supernatural's lasting popularity. It's a great lead-in for Supernatural and now that it's over, Supernatural has to stand more on its own. Furthermore, it still gets better ratings than most of the shows on The CW that come on during the week.

And furthermore Kev. Apparently you didn't see the 2nd episode where Sam was able to see that Lucifer was a hallucination, it was in a warehouse.

Dean has said things about being in hell, that scene in the warehouse where he convinced Sam that he was real made mention of it. And although the Sam thing is a retread as you say, isn't that what Sam does, isn't that who Sam is? He makes the same mistakes over and over, it's a flaw in his character and Dean knows this and has HUGE trust issues with Sam, which is why he watches over him like a hawk. Sam continually does things that makes Dean NOT trust him. He runs off, he sneaks away, he lies, he doesn't tell Dean the whole story all the time, he hides things so yea, Dean doesn't trust him. And Dean knows Sam's fears, Dean knows what can push Sam and drive him over the edge and he is always there trying to pull him back. As for the whole Lisa/Ben thing...they aren't even the same thing. Lisa and Ben are humans.. Amy Pond was a monster and she got away from the Winchesters once before..because of Sam..and she killed innocent people, even if it was for her son. I don't think Dean can justify that. He can't make the same mistakes Sam does. He's seen too many examples over the years where if they had let the monster go, it would have all gone bad. Look at the werewolf girl, the rugaru that they hoped could beat it but couldn't and they had to step in and kill them. I think also something that affected Dean, especially in regards of the kid, was last year, when they took that little Jefferson Starship boy home and he killed. I think that bothered Dean a lot. Whether it's been knowingly or not, sometimes they've made mistakes that have cost lives and now, I think that's part of Dean's guilt and I think that he figures, if it's a monster, better safe than sorry...kill it because it's got to die, otherwise it's going to come back to hurt the people he's trying to save and that will haunt him and he just can't take any more guilt. Which is where I think next week is heading.

@kev
dean was in fact in hell, but nothing that he went through can even remotely relate what sam went through. dean was stuck in hell for 50 years torturing people and hating himself. sam was stuck in a little room of hell with lucifer himself and michael. the torment on his soul was way worse than that on deans. lucifer put him through worse hell than hell itself, tortured him and confined him. he was in such hell, that even now his mind is going back to it. he cant know whats real and whats not, something that dean cant relate to because he was pulled out by castiel
